--Future of the Alliance and Federation, Siege Regions, and Design Controversy--

-Alliance and Federation Sign Non-Aggression Pact, Wipes Out Coalition Fleet-

Last weekend, the Alliance and Federation signed an NAP over siege regions to strengthen their mutual effort against the Coalition.
Although it started off strong, the leader of the United Asian Emirates, Aliitsme, attacked and killed a Chinese member while carrying out a cargo contract and stole their ship. Aliitsme refused to return the member's item or their ship. This sparked an immediate response from the Alliance High Command, who condemned UAE and Aliitsme's actions, and relations between the Alliance and UAE have since gone cold.
This did not seem to weaken the NAP as, today and yesterday, the Alliance and Federation maintained their control of all naval siege regions and wiped out the Coalition Fleet under the leadership of Chinese leader Wxllop, Cultist Imperial Fleet Admiral Ashes43, and the Imperial Roman Admiral Catfesh. The Coalition did not siege the North Atlantic, Indian, or Mediterranean regions at all.

"We did not siege the North Atlantic because most of our pilots couldn't stay that late due to their jobs. Additionally, the combined hatred to Thracia caused the Federation and the Alliance to act as one mega-alliance, heavily outnumbering the coalition most of the time. In the latest siege, we had only 6 people against 26, so we called off the siege. Another factor that made us not fight is that the Alliance is using illegal armor that makes their ships immune to torpedo damage, which also played a role in our decision."
- Thracian leader Melkron on why the regions were not sieged by the Coalition. Oceanic Imperial movecrafter Meowsalod also stated that a combination of demotivation and controversy over new warship designs in regards to torpedoes and torpedo belts further discouraged Coalition action.

Coalition maintains their control over the Sahara tank region and the Scandinavian and American PvP regions.

-Controversy Over the Legality of Recent Torpedo and Torpedo Belt Designs-

Torpedoes and the defense against them has been a focal point of warship design ever since torpedoes were added. Their capability of dealing a massive, sometimes lethal, amount of damage has cemented the importance of their design in place. Recently, an update allowed torpedoes to be reloadable, which threw the entire warship design industry into a frenzy. No longer were torpedoes something that a pilot had to worry about only at the start of the battle; they were now a constant and existential threat to warships, so much so that slower ships such as Dreadnoughts have almost completely disappeared from the battlefield in recent weeks in roles other than supporting via long-range sniping. As almost all torpedo belts lose their effectiveness once struck even once, a new type of torpedo belt emerged; air.
The Coalition have recently pioneered a type of torpedo layout that significantly increases the amount of damage torpedoes can do via bypassing traditional torpedo belts and exploding above or farther below the waterline. To combat this, Alliance and Federation ships have recently adopted a rather simplistic design against it; simply don't have a spot for the torpedoes to hit. Recent torpedo belts have adopted a design similar to that of All-or-Nothing armour seen most commonly on Dreadnoughts in that there is simply a large gap for the torpedoes to harmlessly pass through without detonating at all.
This has sparked a plethora of arguments over the legality of both torpedoes that bypass all possible armour schemes, and the gap-torpedo belts, with both sides stating that the other is illegal. With this issue being so new, there has not been an official ruling from Zaify or Ineusia on the subject, but other staff members have said that they both are either illegal or are borderline illegal. 
The issue is guaranteed to grow and evolve as time goes by, and a ruling from Zaify and/or Ineusia on it is imminent. Until then, designs to counter each other will likely progress in outlandish ways for the foreseeable future.

The ship was returned over a week ago and relations with China have been mended and allied.

The "Alliance" does not condemn UAE nor does head leadership because the United Asian Emirates IS an alliance leader.

The UAE has a massive influence in politics within the alliance and the relationship between UAE and Imperium Romanum will never dissolve.

I am all for player news but lying is just NOT it.

I'd like to see the evidence backing this up.

The response from Cosmic regarding this was pretty firmly negative and he actually did stress that the Alliance did not endorse your actions. If the ship was returned, I'd like to see proof of it, and, if you're telling the truth, I will mention it in the next issue. Similarly, UAE has little to no influence in multinational politics seeing as the general response coming from other nations when informed of the incident pretty much stated a universal dislike for UAE. Furthermore, the Assault Regions are all owned by the Coalition, and several nations have stated their own distaste toward UAE for lack of support in their own sieges.

I'll open up my DMs for whatever evidence you'd like to send to back up your claims. If you don't want to send any, then don't read this newsletter.

Its so funny when you claim to be (well I believe that you are) one of the leading members of the Alliance yet don't comply with the treaty that was signed between the Alliance and the Federation. This shows that a major Alliance nation doesn't care about treaties they signed and don't get backlash from the Alliance for doing it.

Alliance did actually act on this; telling the rest of Alliance and UAE that they would not defend UAE in case of a Chinese retaliation.

Contrary to popular belief neither of you are in the alliance nor are part of leadership, feel free to consult Wxllop or Mangoooishere about the return of the ship DAYS prior to your issue releasing.

You must believe I am in a position where I am trembling in my boots at the thought of the alliance or china not assisting me :shivers:

The "treaty" between Alliance and Federation doesnt exist, I believe you are referring to the Imperium Romanums treaty with Cultist Empire and the alliance they have with china. If you open your mind you can understand Rome does not make up the entire alliance and if I truly truly wanted to I do have other options,

I can guarantee my over a year loyalty towards Rome that their is no scenario where they unally me over such a miniscule dilemma.

I recieved DM's from multiple people concerning the situation at 11 pm WHILST I was at work, because LadyArcane used that leverage to destroy the Alliance between UAE and China.

I'd feel happy to post the screenshots of Alaska being overly toxic to Alliance, UAE and me.

Please feel free to consult somebody who is actually versed in CCnet geopolitics within the Alliance such as GingfulGlider or RaidKeeper.

Please do not message somebody who is actively serving in the military and is more so involved in Romes politics and unaware of the full history between UAE and Alaska.

You claim other nations dislike UAE due to the lack of support in sieges, I remember providing immense support at the Beograd siege despite it being over ten thousand blocks away. Should I mention the 23 thousand blocks I travelled for the Empire Of Columbia siege? the multiple people we brang to the pvp regions in our worst timezones? the immense support at Kremlin whilst I was being sieged?

In what scenario does the UAE not have heavy influence and military power within the alliance.

Feel free to enlighten me of those opinions on that the UAE does not support at other nations sieges.

What nations feel this way? I will be sure to bring it up and ask the alliance leadership if the UAE is truly the rock in sand.
