Ah shit, here we go again, we are back again with another engine Multiblock idea, this round we r going airborne.
Now the previous suggestion I made has massive engines which clearly couldn’t be on airplanes, so this time we r going to talk about planes and their engines.
This suggestion is also covering extra ideas and such.
Let’s begin,
Aircraft Engines are a class of engine with a smaller size to fit in fighters and bombers, which can be split into 3 main types, which are:
Aircraft Piston Engine
Jet Engine
Rocket Engine
Aircraft Piston Engine
Aircraft Piston Engines are engines that run off piston energy to power a plane, the most efficient of the 3 with the lowest power of the 3 as well. The engine will be split into 2 tiers (cores like jet engines)
Tier I: Redstone Block (3 blocks long max, 1 block wide/tall max, 1 piston max)
Tier II: Diamond Block (5 blocks long max, 1 block wide/tall max, 2 piston max)
Aircraft Piston Engines do not need an exhaust block to work (explain later)
Aircraft Piston Engine components are the same as their land bound counterparts but buffed to compensate for their smaller size.
Jet Engine
Jet engines are the intermediate option for power and efficiency, less efficient but provides more power.
There are multiple components to a jet engine, they will be listed below.
Core
The block that is the stem of a Jet Engine
Tier I: Iron Block (5 blocks long max, 1 block wide/tall, 1 dropper max)
Tier II: Emerald Block (7 blocks long max, 1 block wide/tall 2 dropper max)
Compressor
Compressors are a mandatory part of a jet engine, all tiers can only have 1 compressor shown as a anvil.
Compressors are also a very massive object with a mass value of 100 (more on that later)
Fuel Injector
Fuel Injectors are the power block of a jet engine, they are responsible for the injection of fuel into the combustion chamber (explain later), shown as a dropper, fuel injectors must be connected to the combustion chamber or another injector that is connected to the combustion chamber
Combustion Chamber
A must have for any jet engine, represented with a cauldron.
Exhaust
Exhaust is needed to translate the hot hot gases from the engine into kinetic force using Newton’s third law.
This block must have the rear be empty or else force cannot be translated from hot hot gas.this part is represented by the Redstone lamp
Rocket Engine
The largest of the 3 with the lowest efficiency (with the most efficient setup the engine might blaze through 1 stack of fuel blocks in 1 minute or so.)
There is only 1 tier to rocket engines which is made of:
Tier I: Gold Block (must be 3x3 gold block plate for the core of a rocket engine, with 7 blocks max length)
Here are the components,
Combustion chamber
Represented with a cauldron, this is where the high intensity fuel burning occurs.
Nozzle
Nozzles are represented by the Redstone lamp, like the exhaust pipe, it requires the rear to be clear to work. Unlike the jet engine however, if the nozzle is not open the entire engine will explode, with a explosion power or 15 charged creepers and a explosion radius of 30 blocks, this will occur the second of liftoff and no warning will be put.
Combustion Chamber & Nozzle number power multiplication
The number of combustion chambers can be up to 9 and each additional chamber-nozzle combo will add 80% more power with twice the fuel consumption, this also means each combustion chamber also will need another pump (more on that later) this combo will be referred to as a Rocket Engine Nozzle (REN). if a REN is incomplete, then a explosion will occur upon liftoff of similar magnitude of the blocked nozzle explosion.
Example:
2 REN = 2x fuel comsumption, 180% performance of 1 REN
4 REN = 4x fuel consumption, 340% performance of 1 REN
Pump
Pumps are mandatory parts of a rocket engine, each REN must have 1 pump to function. If a REN does not have a pump, then said REN won’t work but won’t explode. This is represented by a Quartz wall.
Preburner
Preburners are what powers the pump to drive fuel into the chamber, this part is not mandatory but if put must be put adjacent to a pump, multiple can be put connected to 1 pump and can boost performance by +10% every preburner. This is represented by a Nether brick wall
Heat sink
Heat sinks are identical here as to land bound engines, these are to increase the length of time needed to overheat the engine. If overheat a explosion of 20 charged creeper magnitude and 30 block radius.
These are all the aircraft engine ideas, now there will be section for misc a engine multi block parts. All the listed parts are not mandatory.
Propeller
Propellers are built using iron bars in a vertical line 3 long with the centre being a Redstone block, these increase the efficiency of aircraft piston engines by 5%
Like this concludes this suggestion, any extra can be commented below.
Thank you for reading and stay safe in the blue skies
