From the last 2 sieges, an issue remains that the siege is over on the basis of a flagship capturing a zone, this battle is restrictive and does not allow chasing or more realistic combat.
I propose we create a system that encourages both fleets to be round the zone but rewarding fleets for coming earlier and works to ensure more fleet action rather than a King of the Hill approach.
For example, say perhaps A B C in dreads are versing 1 2 3, under this system the defenders must ensure that 1 is situated in an obscure corner protected by 2 and 3. The battle that ensues will be A B C attempting to murder 1 as usually everyone ends up at the siege region last minute, this restricts what 1 can do and makes no logical sense.
Under the new system both ships would have to be there for a set time in a zone (that is bigger, perhaps transparent on the map with an outline instead). The ships would register on some kind of squadrons, so that its known they are in the sieging fleet and winner would be decided by a points system, 1 points for staying alive and 3 points per sink. (no other fleets apart from the sieging ones could join, with the flagship of the fleet, guy who made it, receiving the money).
This way, a larger fleet is still advantaged if the smaller fleet retreats however a smaller fleet can still challenge a large fleet.
Say OE turns up with 5 dreadnoughts to pacific and Japan turns up with 3, if Japan retreats OE would win however if Japan sinks 2 of OE dreads and OE end up withdrawing, Japan would win even if it had less ships. This replicates the IRL style of Naval battles and allows smaller fleets to compete by allowing hit and run style attacks.
To prevent this from being abused, if a nation were to leave the zone for too long they would receive negative points. The zones should be larger however.
