i agree but only if it puts “railway claims” into existence so snake claiming won’t happen, these types of claims would only work on train y levels.

Ew, no, that makes absolutely no sense, if I claim land I can do anything I want with it. If I don't want your pesky tunnel, I will block it and you should only cope. I don't want to keep tunnels open for my enemies.

It has the use of not having enemy infrastructure blocking your city projects. It is nonsensical that an external authority has to say what I can and can't build in my town. If I, mayor of a town, don't want a random tunnel passing through there, why should it be illegal for me to block it? It's MY town after all, I don't want your stupid trains.

and yes, recently 2 chunk town was made in tunnel, blocked off tunnel and mayor hasnt been there since. build large city there and i will accept and respect your project love

Imagine if a new players randomly picked up a town location that had a tunnel in the middle of it. What should he do? If he'd get banned for this he would just never come back (and we DO have a problem of not many new players coming, so new player retention is a thing to worry about). What if I wanted to put MY tunnel in that location and did NOT wanted external trains to pass?
This is a ridicolous ad-hoc suggestion to solve a problem only YOU have and YOU want an easy way out. Do the same thing, and THEN we'll discuss if this is really a problem!

Claim metagaming started with siege towns and need a total overhaul, but this is not a solution.

Movecraft isnt even supposed to be used underground. There is plenty of above ground alternatives if you're not even talking about movecraft. So this suggestion is pointless just go above ground like everyone. Infrastructure can get griefed its literally nations lmao.

griefing tunnels is already possible with different annoying ways but yet u still want a way that cant be countered by anything

if u prove to me that the town wasnt made only to block the train tunnel, go and build something there, start making the town active, and add some building to it, and also prove to me that u need the space on that exact y lvl 40 area that makes your town ugly. prove it

Make a new tunnel thats what rome did with end fort. All I see is a complaining cry baby, xcuse me for the language, that usually makes bias suggestions based on personal occurances. When you blocked our tunnel there wasnt a suggestion. If you cant do that use zeps. You have new stuff that didnt exist a year ago like zeppelin item transfer. There are so many infinite alternatives yet you're fixated on one thing and most likely solely because it happened to you. So yeah it is a biased suggestion as long as you suggest something when it affects you but not when you do it. As a person that suffered by that issue I have discovered that there are multiple alternatives and that I cant intervene with what people do at their own towns should it be blocking my supply chain. Has happened multiple times never complained because I see it as a move my opponent can do and would do if they knew that so I stopped using those whatsoever to better alternatives. And this is why I'll downvote. Get off your comfort zone and work around it not alter the server to your disfortunes

The reason you cannot block waterways is due to terrain defacement, however you CAN block canals (or were going to be getting a lot of people banned), which are player made, just like underground tunnels.

Both canals and underground tunnels player built infrastructure, and tunnels especially are used for sieges. Tunnels are extremely easy to build (I built one from Finland to Lithuania at the Endfort siege in 2 hours) and ontop of that griefing them does not leave visible terrain defacement (besides underground which already has a million mineshafts anyway).

This doesn’t even talk about roads which are fine to grief aswell (as long as you don’t grief the land under them aswell).

The rule for claiming and blocking up waterways specifies that it only counts for natural waterways, player made waterways are allowed to be claimed and blocked up. So why should it be made illegal to claim and block up player made tunnels?

everyone hates staff intervention when it comes to claims, and implementing something like this opens a whole new path of exploitation (my 15 train tunnels under a prime siege base spot!!!!)

Trains in Europe are non-existent since hostile nations rarely care about infrastructure when decimating the wilderness.

And for attackers in sieges, a zep is the *only* reliable resupply method.
Since every train line going to a siege base has been a sky-rail so far with no staff approval (who woulda guessed the attackers don't speak to staff :< )

Rick if you are including underground train lines in your reply then that is not true, Vestfold, Livland, and End_Fort sieges all used underground train lines to great effect, the thing ijust is asking for is basically an invincible supply route so his side (which is currently attacking) can have a massive advantage.

This suggestion comes after a railway line was discovered to supply the offensive seige against Shimazu which means that this suggestion is definetly done to get an advantage for the attackers.

I did neglect the pre-established rail lines, my bad.

Attackers have been winning all the recent offensive sieges, I don't see why they need a greater and unfair advantage
