This was mentioned before in Nations chat and I wanted to make a suggestion to make everything more organised. Torpedoes are the main armament of submarines and a major weapon of destroyers. In the current meta, a maxed submarine can barely sink a cruiser in 4 loads, if they all hit! Before submarines were too op and now they are completely dead.
Besides that, as in a submarine or destroyer, reloading torpedoes are too hard and sometimes even impossible (you need to be undamaged to release and pilot back or it will require a full repair).
Also, you may know torpedo launchers (real ones) are actually aimable but in CCNet you can only shoot them at X/Z coordination. We already know this is possible to fix since we already have up to 90° rotating cannons.
To fix the 2 issues and add the aiming feature, it is now vital to replace current basic torpedoes with aimable torpedo launcher cannon types. With that coming, the torpedo launcher limit can be added like following:
- 4 torpedo launchers for destroyers
- 2 torpedo launchers for cruisers
- 8 torpedo launchers for submarines
Of course when adding reloadable, it's important to limit the ammo storage. It can be something else too but my idea is making hoppers their storage blocks and making torpedo item non-stackable (also should be crafted one at a time to prevent stacking).
