i think there should be a system to design guns for different purposes. the system goes as follows. you have 3 main bases to chose from: rifle machine gun and pistol. there would be different parts that would change stats such as the grip, material, bolt type, barrel, optic, and caliber. an example would be as follows: i have a machine gun base equip with "pistol grip" (+5% mobility and +10% faster reloads compared to a M1918 BAR machine gun) a short barrel (-15% velocity -5% damage +10% mobility compared to M1918 BAR) .30-06 springfield caliber (+10% velocity +20% base damage +50% recoil to the stats) sight would be iron sights (no stats added) magazine would be BAR magazine (+5% faster reload 30 round capacity) and that woudl be my design for a basic close range rifle for example. the point is the base is a BAR for the machine gun, M1911 for pistol and mosin-nagant for rifle and the stats change based on what parts you put on it every part has pros and cons making it range widely on good and bad designs and you have to pick your parts carefully based on the purpose of that gun. message me on discord if you have questions (TheDorrMan#7508)
