ik we have discussed this 100 times but there are no updates about it, so i got an idea to suggest.
before that, i'd like to say that server is mostly boring on monday-thursday and sieges start at last hour of friday, and ends on sunday, sometimes not even this happens and server is dead for week, +sieges are disabled in first week of month so basically u can start sieges 3 times a month who last 48 hours each (most of the times less than 48 hours). adding pvp regions will make it so there is fights almost everey day on ccnet, (land fights).
alright i will begin.
first off, before choosing place for region, i have 2 ideas for it.
1) we make custom terrain on the land we chose, of course fitting the biome it will be in, add custom builds, etc. make it "wilderness" looking too.
2) we choose random place but dont add anything.
thing is, pvp regions should be either regenning after every fight, or breaking blocks can be forbidden.
if we make it so breaking blocks is not possible, then custom edited region would be cool, but if its regening, dont add anything (maybe).
thing is, making it defender/attacker is impossible, so we are gonna add limit to players like this, only Viceroy+ can participate in region, and of course, soldier rank. if u dont have viceroy/soldier rank within 10 chunks away from region and inside region, u get warsickness.
movecraft of course will be disabled within siege region and 10 chunks away from siege region.
same for siege bases, u can't make town unless its at least 10 chunk away from region, reason to this, is that players wont be able to abuse claims ganks with close siege bases, and they can not repot fast enough to go back to battlefield. and reason movecraft is disabled in pvp region is that vanilla pvp cant do anything in naval/sahara regions, so movecraft shouldnt be able to do anything in pvp regions. thats the whole point of pvp regions.
Keep inventory will be off of course.
the way region will work is similar to banner. there will be one specific spot chosen inside the region, to begin siege, attacker needs to place any type but plain white banner on that block, after that, the 20 minute timer will begin, after 20 min timer is up, siege will begin.
Attackers - attackers can be any nation allied to the person's nation who placed banner, placing banner will require coleader of the nation u are in.
Defenders - defenders can be any nation who are not allied to person's nation who placed banner, so basically anyone can come to region with viceroy/soldier rank. and any kills on non-attacker side will do negative points.
Points - Points will be same as siege banner points, only difference is that no matter how many players cap, each death is 1000 points on each side.
INCOME - i was thinking about 2000$ per day, since potions are very expensive, so are sets and binding runes
and if it is possible, disable dripstone traps inside region, insta kill traps wont be fun in these regions. and make it so u cant make deeper than 20 block hole within region.
im still thinking if guns should be allowed in region or not, but i cant find a good reason for them not to be, except of course that they are op XD.
this is just a small idea, not final idea. i want to hear everyone's opinion, and details of course. but main thing of regions are
1) No movecraft
2) Require a rank
3) Fun
