I think the fort system shouldnt be as it is since it just makes huge cubes everywhere that look ugly. i think it should work by starting a "war" between two countries where unpeaceful towns work as camps to restock and are not sieged but are merely there to hold gear and have artilery if enemy advances close, there will be a banner outside of the unpeaceful of each side that cannot have blocks placed within 10 blocks of it, and there will be a "front line" which is a 1k block line that shows each side, the more kills one side gets the closer it moves to the unpeaceful and the banner. this would be a mroe realistic warfare thing and would offer a much more refreshing experience then pvp in front of brick and shoot at brick. unpeaceful towns would be more of military bases of a nation then a giant cube. this is what i think warfare should be in ccnet, wars will be won by points gained based on kills or will be ended once one side reaches the banner there will be 3 rounds one on the day its started and then 1 each day at the same time the war was started to make it easy to remember to log on instead of 24/7

unfortunately i dont see this idea doing too well because of people like skulled who say "cultist tower looks good!" .

people dont understand the difficulty of designing a fort and then building it and then making it look nice whilst getting attacked.

on the warfare side. the majority of people who dislike this idea are no lifers who sweat pvp.

i wish this mostly for realism because last time i checked the battle of verdun wasnt a bunch of sweaty people with swords and horses surrounding a stone box

Zaify has been cooking something, he showed us a province style map maybe in the future u need to capture all the province and keep them for some time to win a war.

Ye its a pretty good concept, like if all town in that province will get occupied by the nation holding banner until taken back. And the siege would be longer id say 4 or 5 days siege. And you cant damage the fort until last day

I designed like 3 forts and I can proudly say i was on the edge of doing self harm

As far as the system goes, its garbage due to multiple reasons. You can not expect people to have 1k blocks open on each side. They are hardly following the 8 chunk rule and like half of them have them 3 chunks away. You also cant have a good war system that is purely based on kills. It was like that at the beginning of N1 and in the first war was proven to not work since a group of better players can always get more kills than deaths regardless of them not being able to "hold and capture" a point realistically. You also cant expect people to magically accept a new system that would wipe all their forts that they spend quite a lot of hours working on
