No this is a bad idea as a majority of shipyards are made of smoothstone and utilize it as a non-mergable block to let us pilot only a specific part of the shipyard with the chests and signs to use repair states and print stuff in. And if smoothstone were to be turned into mergable blocks many shipyards would be bricked

The shipyards main purpose is to produce movecraft. Though it can make other things, I would suggest using Litmatica for builds. Using shipyards for builds is not worth it, and is best used to print more painful builds, like forts, or a decorated ceiling.

You can use it for other builds, but to not interrupt the reason they exist, it should not be changed. Though maybe another tool for making buildings could be debated.

Yeah maybe something that costs 0.4 dollars per block
