I think we can all feel the effects of limited localization in travel times and larger nations, as an improvement I suggest lowering the distance a peaceful town can be protected by a fort with a few additions to add more gameplay mechanics. I am not particularly well versed in modding towny or other plugins so if my suggestions are improbable please inform me. If we utilized the nation exp feature with nation levels, at costs, to earn more non peaceful towns in a nation we could encourage the build up of nations over time and, I feel, it would allow for more steps along the way of expanding you nation. Along with this we could utilize the town types featured on dynmap currently and reward secondary forts with a specific type and perhaps various features currently only available to capitals such as /ah shop plots and the collection of taxes of any peaceful town connected to them, while the fort town itself could solely provides taxes to the capital to further separate and localize larger nations. I feel a new or readdressed role for the mayor of a secondary fort could pose some interesting gameplay mechanics such as, the ability to collect and set taxes for the peaceful towns their fort protects, apply roles to the players under their forts, and start wars for their section of the nation.
Again these are suggestions and my intention is to improve the server. I would appreciate any conversation on my thoughts.
