Zeppelins used to have bombs! Ever since the removal of LaunchBombs and the addition of Bomb Bays, Zeppelins havent been included into the boom boom.
Can we just allow Zeps to have bomb bays? Theyre literal Zeppelins and they dropped bombs IRL and did on CCNet for years. With the nerfs that happened over a year ago you cant even complain about the effects zeps would have on movecraft warfare (theyre 1 tap).
I think they should have 2 bomb bays minimum, as berry said zeppelins are one tap and only purpose it has in combat is being a mother ship which works badly at only 400 blocks, also a much needed zeppelin buff about its durability is needed.
Ya zeppelins here are nerfed pretty hard from real life. A zeppelin can fly at 85 mph (would be faster than every other craft on the server with the exception of the planes and maybe the truck but it would need a good road). They also usually carried 5 mg (usually the mg 08 same used on fighters). They were also a lot harder to shoot down normal bullets only create small leaks and zeppelins have a lot of smaller gas bags. Incendiary ammo had to be used and even then it had to be mixed with explosive rounds because once inside the gas bags there wasn't enough oxygen to ignite anything(And given the time period in-between ww1 and ww2 this server is in we would have helium filled zeppelins rendering incendiary ammo far less effective).
Yeah I wish that Zeppelins could be the flying fortresses that they were IRL. In ww1 the first strategic bombing was used by ZEPPELINS, not bombers, and they completely devastated areas of London. Personally I think Zeppelins should have FOUR bomb bays and be allowed to have 2-6 fighter machine guns to defend themselves. Plus, Zeppelins should have a very low % sink rate instead of it being like 75-80 right now because IRL, you'd basically have to completely burn a zeppelin for it to finally come crashing down. Zeppelins could return home from battle with only one of their engines/air bags remaining. Before anyone complains about balancing, Zeppelins are huge targets and even with the suggested changes would be incredibly easy to shoot down. I'm just saying that Zeppelins right now stand NO chance in direct engagements when they really should have a chance.
Im not really sure about that figher machine gun thingy but yes, 4 bomb bays would actually make it somewhat usable, it is still very weak and i kinda like it how that the zeppelin w/fighter vs zeppelin w/fighter is kinda like capture the flag (kinda) but first one to destroy the zeppelin wins, i think zeppelins should be made that they cannot protect themselves but also have about 4-5 bomb bays.
I like this idea a lot. Currently Zeppelins are a glorified glass cannon craft that's only strategic purpose is to move resources and barely allow the movement of fighters & bombers (outsped eventually even with the planes going at their lowest speed). The removal of one of their most vital features- the crew bed, alongside the multiple nerfs & the aforementioned bomb bay removal has truly put the nail in the coffin for Zeppelins. Once fearsome flying fortresses that could be utilized for arial bombardment with gunfire and thrown ordnance, these crafts are used nowadays purely for utility (transporting resources) and aesthetic's. Even new players don't see the use of Zeppelins. A voyager I spoke to yesterday said that he saw no prospect in the use of Zeppelins as he could "just use the ah lmaooo". A good idea I've seen suggested is to add HP blocks to the craft. Obviously this wouldn't be effective to the same degree as something like a Dreadnaught but it would certainly revitalize the modern Zeppelin to a more acceptable standard. Zeppelins have always been the punching bag for nerfs every update and it's time to right those wrongs by giving them the buffs they deserve. In their current state, Zeppelins do have a purpose, a heavily narrowed one due to the transgressions committed against it throughout the months, but a purpose nonetheless. true, zeppelins should be mass bombers but weak at the same time, only good counter is actually anti air and bombers with missle launchers and bomb bays suprisingly because of the fire. maby it could have a few defencive turrets but ehh then we would see like 300000 zeppelins flying every cityblock we see and will bomb every single atom. maby the weaker machinegun what i suggested could be added to zeppelins but yeah. it would need balancing changes but i think this could work out. they are not that cheap either exept if you have a wool farm which also produces not much.
I see a lot mentioned how no one sees the value in zeppelin. I can speak from experience I used to have the largest air fleet mostly consisting of 1k-2k block zeppelins. Zeppelins used to be my favourite craft I even lived in the air with those as a nomad, literally flying city. Used to use them as gunships and as bombers all over the world. When the zeppelins got nerfed so hard I just gave all my zeppelins away. Truly a sad end to it
