The fort on CCNet has been the defense structure of every nation. In 2021 its usefulness and defender advantage was on its hay days and fort cannons used to pretty much decide sieges. By 2022 they became extremely useless for a while as canister got nerfed to do 0.5 dmg. As of late it has been re-added but confined to Field Guns (imo a good change). But the canister is not what I want to discuss. What I want to discuss is the fact the turret itself in 2023 has been a point dropper and this feature has restricted fort cannons from say 4 shells at once in 2021 to 1 shell or 2 if ure fast enough with VERY limited render distance view.
Piloting turrets gives you the render distance to see enemy movecraft, its an issue I noticed at say Livland, people would fire shells at the mist of render chunk to hope it would hit the actual craft and judge by angles.
So here is what I want to suggest:
Why dont we:
Restrict fort turrets to say 2 or 3 cannons per turret
Make them not drop points
Whats the radical change here that would be gamebreaking? None really, it would just make fort cannons able to see the actual battlefield without dropping points to enemy therefore make them more usable in defense and also stop people from accidentaly piloting them as turrets and dropping points (it happens more often than one thinks)
