I have discussed sieges in depth with multiple sides of the CCnet community, and although there are a few purists (utter idiots that want to return to sieges on weekdays and longer sieges) most sides can conclude either Sieges are not fun or the scope for fun within this is overshadowed by the immense prep taken to mount a siege and sustain a defense. This is really foul for server health, especially when there are other Servers a lot of CCNet players are playing on that I hear is more fun when it comes to combat.
So from a player's point of view, we need to be more open to change... There is no point playing the conservative on an issue like such. Change is not bad and in addition, staff have to be willing to take risks in development. The truth is a lot of people don't quit due to time invested in ccnet.
So new suggestions must Prioritise having fun over anything else, priority must be to make a competitive environment that is not only rewarding to win but also rewarding to play.
With that out of the way here are some pointers,
1) Mini - Sieges
Mini SIeges would work as a pvp region, essentially you can place some sort of banner on an enemy fort that will initiate a PVP region almost. This allows one to have fun without committing to an entire offensive. People would be careful to waste too many resources and explosions would remain disabled apart from vehicles that tag each other.
2) More strategic sieges
Sieges work really boringly, perhaps if there were multiple objectives in play or towns in order to make siege objects a little more complex than sieging one banner.
3) Allow IFVs to cap
IFVs should be allowed to cap, they can now be targetted by players and this would make the risk of using them somewhat worth it as of now when they gain no points and sink easily.
4) Stronger emphasis on non-vanilla pvp
Guns and other quirks should be prioritized to take power away from those who sweat pvp and put power into the hands of regular individuals. That's not to say remove or completely buff guns to an exceptional level.... but guns should be equal to swords, not an auxiliary.
5) Smaller tanks in general to make regions such as Ireland feel less like it's impossible to have more than 3 tanks at a time.
6) Less emphasis on pots, to make sieges easier to prep for and in addition move away from the vanilla element of PVP. I'd like to see some kind of focus group adding fun game mechanisms in line with a Comp FPS game or war games like Holdfast/HLL. The easier we can make sieges for the layman, the better the server will do. Lets have gun strats, focus on making guns unique rather than adding a 100 and allowing for more creative and gun oriented pvp.
