Further comment at this time regarding improvised explosive devices.


CCNet is a server that takes place in some weird history period (in terms of weapons) from WWI to WWII. Now, IEDs aren't normally discussed during that time period, but they, in fact, were used during WWII and before [1]. So, using this history, I suggest not just IEDs themselves, but a whole new set of weapons with IEDs included (since the term IED is, by its nature, broad).

IEDs can be activated a number of ways [2], but the parts we will focus on will be:

1. Remote Control
2. Detonator Box
3. Time Switch

Remote control means they can only be activated when using a remote. This is great, but it would need to be particularly expensive as a recipe. Obviously, two advanced circuit boards would be needed, one for the IED, and one for the remote. When creating the devices, it would be most likely to use TNT over any other explosive (seeing as it is already in Minecraft), but that will be discussed further in the post. Finally, you could link the two devices by just right-clicking with the remote in your hand and another two right clicks (one to prepare, another to confirm) would detonate the device.

A detonator box is a cheaper alternative to the remote control. This time, the IED would not require an advanced circuit board, but rather a basic circuit board (possible for the remote control IED to be an enhancement/variant), and the detonator box would also require a basic circuit board (yes, I know they don't have one in real life, but this is just to keep things fair). It could be connected by string (or some other slimefun string variant of some kind, resembling string), and again, would detonate on two button presses. Obviously, the string would have to be more detectable, so making it unable to be buried underground could be an option (the IED would still be buriable, but the string not).

Finally, we have the time switch, the most cheap, undetectable, and possibly unnecessary IED (although could be helpful if you know someone will siege you in that area). It would need an advanced circuit board, but no detonator. You could right click to cycle through timings, or right click and type the timing into chat, and then left click to start the device. It would detonate after that set amount of time.


Types of IEDs

I just finished discussing the ways IEDs could be activated, but what about their explosions? Well, I've got it covered [citation needed]. There are a number of different IEDs, including but not limited to:

1. Modified UXO (unexploded ordnance)
2. Pipe bombs or similar
3. Molotov cocktail modifications
4. Grenade modifications

Obviously, we can't use #1, because CCNet has ordnances that always explode. Pipe bombs are always an option, since steel is a common substance in CCNet and one could imagine fashioning the steel in such a way that it makes a pot, and as such a pipe bomb made with a pot. Molotov cocktail modifications are also an option, as are grenades.


A second option could be to use the existing ammunition in CCNet to construct such IEDs (Armor-Piercing, Incendiary, Shell, Canister Shot, HE Shell, Shrapnel, 4-inch shells, 9-inch shells, 12-inch shells, 14-inch shells, Heavy Tank Shells, etc.)


Obviously, these would have different explosive powers, but you get the idea.

Now, for the crafting!


For time bombs, you would need a timer. How to make that? A clock, a copper wire, and an advanced circuit board.
For remote detonation bombs you need a remote detonation device. So of course, you need a GPS geo-scanner, a copper wire, two stone buttons, and an advanced circuit board.
For the detonator box, you would need a basic circuit board at the bottom, a copper wire on top of that, 4 cobblestone surrounding that, and finally, a steel ingot on top of the copper wire. For the wire lining, you would need just copper wire.


For the actual IED, you could put your improvised explosive in the middle.
- Then for time bombs, you would put the timer below that, and surround it with steel or iron.
- For remote activation, it would be basically the same, but you put a GPS transmitter above the ammunition and again surround it with iron or steel
- And for the detonator box, just put copper wire at the top of the recipe
