I think it's clear that siege windows aren't to everyones liking as they're all designed for the UK timezone.
We want everyone to be able to contest regions, but currently they're too focused specifically only UK weekday evenings.
I can see that the goal is to have regions at a time when players aren't in school. However, this does not align with other timezone's suitable evenings.
As you know, UK 6pm is; 1pm in NY, 10am in West Coast, 3am in Asia. The average siege window (9pm UK) is equally unsuitable for most of USA and Asia.
By this logic, UK timezone players can attend any region.
In my opinion this is far too favoured towards UK players - all siege windows are USA school time, or night time in Asia.
For a nations oriented server, it explains the lack of activity during USA hours.
The windows force USA and Asia players to grind and cap banners, but they can't participate in any movecraft sieges..
As you may have noticed this doesn't matter during holidays, anybody can make it then, but that's only during holidays.
I think siege regions should be more random, this would encourage consistent server activity globally.
It would also spread the siege windows out a bit more, as currently players are being forced to travel all weekend to attack / defend.
This pattern encourages 'logon' behaviour (where players only log on to siege), as all they can do on Sunday is travel between regions due to lack of tp to region.
This is coming from myself (resident in the UK), I think it negatively affects all players, not just USA and Asia.
Maybe the admins have a better way to fix this, but I have three possible solutions:
Siege Events:
Players can't siege at will, we understand we need to wait for a window which may or may not be at a compatible time.
We could have a region that opens on x day of the month, and the region vanishes after the event has finished.
This can create more exciting sieges for people in UK, Asia, and USA.
More Varied Regions:
Currently all regions are surrounding the center of the map favouring UK timezone.
We should diversify the regions by dividing regions into multiple smaller windows set in 3 different timezones.
In theory; a 'theatre' would count for 3 theoretical atlantic regions, based in completely different timezones.
Since nations must wait for a window to siege, this would relax this limitation a little by allowing to siege a third of the region when best suits them without completely taking the whole region by surprise.
Nations EU, Nations USA, Nations Asia:
This one is contraversial. It would divide the playerbase and cause confusion.
However it is an option, you can always start by hosting them on smaller servers.
Although to be honest I prefer the above two solutions as I like the server's diversity.
Thank you for reading.
As for the unnecessary comments that this will get from certain Alliance members:
In regards to 'recruit more british people', I'd like to remind you this is an international server, and you too have USA / Asia players you should care about.
The reason all regions are in your back yard and still 'contested' is because European players naturally gravitate to settling in Europe. If we had more randomized siege windows we could expect more region activity outside of Europe.
