Could this be exploited for tree farms? I worry if you make the saplings printable and have bonemeal/ tree growth accelerators, you could automate it too much and crash the market.

That pay increases the efficiency ALOT.

You could make a savestate with a massive field of saplings laid out and use tree growth accelerators to auto grow, so you are able to literally just run through with an axe, especially if you have infused hoppers.

It is very easy already and making it easier will ruin it.

Currently the fastest way is to set up a large farm with automatic bonemeal dispensers or tree growth accelerators and mine the trees.

Efficiency is limited by having to manually place the saplings and having to break the trees.

I am working on a design that if this thing gets added I could literally just hold left click for an hour and get all the charcoal no need to move.
