Point types:
- Assault points: points it takes to participate in siege regions/hold (movecraft and PVP).
- Siege points: points it takes to start a siege.
- Political Points: Points it takes to influence relations.
Sieges:
In order to start a siege, you would need to gain enough siege points to siege a nation... this starts off high however would be lowered if...
- Members from the nation you want to siege has committed aggressive acts like sinking ships and or killing players or taken your region.
- They are within the same Continent you are in.
- They have economic sanctions put against you (there would need to be an economic tariff system added) higher than X amount.
Alliances:
In order to gain an ally you must use political points to create further relations...
- this would be done by economic cooperation
- Establishing embassies (like polytopia)
- State visits of Kings
You would increase relations like Victoria 2 until you can ally which would take a portion of your points... and then it would be possible.
Assault Points are simple:
- Each nation would get the same amount of assault points and therefore we would see more regional struggle over regions than worldwide...
- Siege regions that see no action would deteriorate in reward given and vice versa.
Alternatively:
- This stands but taking regions of allys is acceptable and does not decrease relations to encourage friendly competition... yet this is less realistic of course.
Nations could chose their Character costing a certain amount of Political points and taking x amount of time ranging from...
- Aggressor: Can start sieges with less than X, No tariffs able to be placed and minimal justification to get sieged
- International Order: Can start sieges with less than X amount of tension with another nation and increased Fort limits but also costs less, Tarrifs limited to X and nation costs less to be sieged by x
- Interventionism: Can start sieges with less than X amount of tension with another nation, Tarrifs limited to X and nation costs less to be sieged by x
- Default
- non-intervention: Limited to 5 allies, Cannot start offensive sieges/Costs more diplomacy points to siege.
- Isolationism: Limited to 3 Allies, Cannot start or partake offensive sieges against nations with X amount of diplomacy points/Costs more diplomacy points to siege.
- Splendid isolationism: Limited to 2 Allies, Cannot start or partake offensive sieges against nations with X amount of diplomacy points/Costs more diplomacy points to siege+2000 starting points.
The logic is, that nations could then choose their path according to their character and attract people of similar mindsets... An aggressive nation is easier to get sieged and can siege easier while a new nation might prefer isolationism and stay out of politics all together... then they can decide whether they are ready for jump in due time.
This is purposely vague
