It is clear that the server has a lot custom mechanics directly tied to agriculture. Realistic plant growth, custom SF crops and even harvester movecrafts are all aspects of the game that give more depth to farming. The only problem is that it lacks "intention" behind it.
What is it intended for and what use is there of using all those extra mechanics?
As it is right now it all seems inconsequential because the way people farm food is just by collecting a chunk of potatoes or carrots and then they are done for possibly weeks of gameplay. I think we are clearly missing something that would allow all those existing mechanics to have an impact or a real use.
One good example is how custom SF foods now have added effects such as Regen I, also the bio fuel that can be made by massively farming corn and sugar cane. But everything else just feels like it is not a real part of the game and is just there for "flavor" and often gets completely overlooked and ignored.
So I am suggesting to add more mechanics that will either give use to crops that are completely useless as of now, or to food in general.
One example of such mechanic would be somehow tying /t recourses to food production, for example, there could be a command that allows you to collect "food points" into a town bank by selling food items, the same way how you can collect cash by selling gold in silver in /bank.
The "food points" would go to a town "bank" of food points and each day when recourses are produced they would be taken away, and if they run out no recourses can be produced. Also if it is possible, there should be diminishing returns on same type of food constantly being sold to try to force some kind of variety and add reasons for farming already existing custom crops.
Another mechanic I could think of would be something that will probably be considered too "radical" and not implemented, but ill mention it anyway.
We could have extra hearts of health that are gained by eating different kinds of food, like how it works in spice of life mod, with extra hearts being lost on death. That way each nation would need to consider all those different plugins in order to create as much food variety as possible to get maxed out on extra hearts before PvP.
My suggestion is more intended to point out the problem I see on the server instead of directly asking for something specific to be done about it, I would be happy with any mechanics being added with the purpose of making agriculture actually part of the game.
