Each of these points are not meant to be in association with each other unless stated otherwise, so if you disagree with something, please be specific about which part and, staff, if this is considered to be implemented, know that I do not mean this suggestion to be all-or-nothing. Some of these are suggestions I've made in the past and am repeating here.
1. Bombers allow for weapon-switching via unused key such as O or K. I believe Raptor made a suggestion similar to this. A lot of bombers either use bomb bays or missile launchers but very rarely do they use both due to the missiles and bombs launching at the same time. If at all possible, there should also be a way to make it easier to launch torpedoes without having to leave Direct Control mode. I suggest a new type of torpedo launch system that also relies on keys. Note that there still should be a way to launch the torpedoes separately and not all at once, as sometimes that is not desired.
2. Bomb bays be split into three classes. "Light Bomb Bays" drop basically cluster bombs that do very little damage per impact, about as much as a single fighter autocannon bullet and can have two on a bomber. I suggest they have very cheap crafting recipes, probably just a single piece of gunpowder with a piece of lead on all four corners and iron in the remaining slots. "Standard Bomb Bays" are just the current bombs. "Heavy Bomb Bays" are bomb bays with four times the reload time of standard bomb bays but twice the explosive yield. Only once of these is allowed on bombers. I suggest a piece of TNT in the center, iron blocks in the corners, and gunpowder or thermite filling the remaining slots.
3. (Tied with suggestion #2) Normal bomb crafting recipes be changed to replace the steel with iron ingots.
4. Missile crafting recipes replace the circuit board with aluminium ingot, as missiles in Nations are not guided and have no reason to require circuit boards.
5. Addition of a new aircraft class, the "Heavy Bomber." This bomber is much slower and less agile than standard bombers and cannot carry any missiles or torpedoes, but it can carry four light bomb bays, four standard bomb bays, and two heavy bomb bays. The Heavy Bomber has a maximum size of 800-1,200 blocks (whichever is more popular for a max size) and can carry two fighter machine guns (to allow for self-defense in case of fighter intercepts). Heavy bombers also have a higher maximum height limit so that they're not instantly shredded by AA, however they cannot use any of their weapons above the standard aircraft height limit, forcing them to fly at lower altitudes for bombing runs, risking interception by enemy aircraft. The heavy bomber also has a minimum length and wingspan of 15 blocks so that planes with such powerful bombs can't be impossible to hit.
6. Bombs now fly forward when dropped to be more realistic and to allow pilots to "aim" their bombs. Similarly, bomb sites (an actual hologram kinda thing on the screen, like War Thunder) to allow pilots to know the GENERAL AREA (not precise!) that their bombs will land would be neat, but not needed even if this suggestion is added.
Please let me know what you think.
