Traps, and bubble column traps are 100% legal and part of intentional gameplay. Unescapeable traps are also legal and part of intentional gameplay, in or out of siege. If someone were to fall into any other form of legal and unescapable via /stuck trap outside of siege, they would be equally expected to either ask for release from a town member or die out of it.

Other than you not liking this game mechanic, I'm not seeing any other reasoning as to why this should change. Trapping in this manner has always been legal on Nations, and this type of trap doesn't change how I feel about traps.

I should also not that this trapping method (being unable to use /stuck because of constant movement) is not exclusive whatsoever to bubble columns and could be easily made using pistons.

None of this is new, it's only being newly used by fort designers. The meta shifts, shift with it. I promise you this is not an insurmountable hill, it's just a hill you don't happen to like.

What about tpaing not having a similar issue with vertical movement

You get the same outcome from traps that kill you like dripstone

its no differant than a trap that insta kills you. All it does is force you to use /suicide
