So an idea of mine that I think would be neat is a kind of "power grid" system. Basically, it would power simple things like trains (inside claims, like electric trolleys), lights, and cranes. All other movecraft would still need fuel and all other slimefun machines would still require electricity made from generators. The idea of the power grid was to be a neat addition for QoL and a little bit of roleplaying.
1. Power grids would be a single conduit that has a range of maybe 8-12 chunks that powers all above-mentioned functions.
2. If the conduit is shut off or destroyed, those functions will cease operation (lights go out, trolleys and cranes stop moving).
3. The power grid can be connected to a single master-switch to shut them all down, would create ideas for building electrical plants for this to be housed in.
4. There are two ideas I have for how the power grid is maintained.
a. It is simply connected to a normal generator, but the ENTIRE power grid (as in a fixed size, no matter how big it is, it consumes the same amount of power) uses almost no energy, like so little that a single piece of coal can keep it going for 24-48 hours, so that the power grid isn't constantly consuming energy and becoming annoying.
b. Adding a power grid is simply added as a towny feature and it increases your town's upkeep by 1-5% of your current upkeep. If your town runs out of money, your power grid shuts down. If you shut the power grid off, then your upkeep goes back to normal.
This isn't really a vital change that needs happening, but I think it would be really neat if cities had a power grid system to add to nuance and roleplaying a bit.
