I cannot delete suggestions, so I would like this one to replace the other one I made earlier.
While this suggestions is supposed to go on Nations, I put it on "Others" as to first see it tested in the "Gun" or "Saigon" gamemode of the legavy PvP server as to not bring trouble to Nations until well tested.
Well, the idea is divided in 4: Buffing automatic firearms, nerfing their ammo price, adding the "Shooting behind Cover" mechanic and buffing the tankgewehr.
The logic behind this is to make rifle and pistol damage output and recoil be the guide for the damage and recoil of their respective calibers, as to keep those characteristics consistent between all guns that shoots the same kind of bullet, be it machine gun, carbine (Albeit this is already well done) or sub-machinegun.
And in compensation, the price for machine guns and submachinegun magazines would increase to an amount more or less correlated to their bullet consumption:
- The 2 Lewis Gun Drums would now cost 3 steel ingots and 20 ".303" clips.
- The 6 Chauchat Magazines would now cost ~20 "7.92x57mm Mauser" clips + 3 steel ingots.
- The 6 BAR Magazines would now cost ~24 ".30-06 Springfield" clips + 3 steel ingots.
- The 6 Madsen Magazines would now cost ~24 "7.92x57mm Mauser" clips + 3 steel ingots.
- The 6 MP18 magazines would now cost ~20 "7.65mmx21 Parabellum" + 6 steel ingots.
That would make rifle round machine guns incredibly powerful, but incontrollable because of the recoil (The same as a rifle ¡for each bullet!), on top of making you slower.
Submachineguns would be te go-to option to spray-n-pray as they would not slow you down that much and still bring rapid fire of the still damaging and more controllable Pistol Caliber.
Rifles and pistols, on the other hand, would be the cheap standart go-to option, as the prices of the other weapons would be kept as high as they are now compared to these options.
To spice things up a bit, a neat mechanic would be to greatly reduce recoil and improve accruacy of guns if you were to be:
- Sneaking
- Standing next to a one-block tall solid block/wall with a transparent block on top (Like a trapdoor, air, half slab...) (With the transparent block at the level of your head)
- Looking at the direction of said block/wall
As to simulate "Shooting from Cover", and make the now uncontrollable machine guns viable to use, trading firepower for mobility while making the other weapons benefit from the boost too.
Speaking of which, as to better represent the actual power of a 13.2mm TuF and to keep this same philosophy of firepower for mobility, its damage should be 4 times larger, as the energy of the round irl is ~4 times greater than its rifle counterparts. And anyone scoring a hit with it to infantry should be rewarded, even if it cannot do headshots.
Any ideas and opinions you have about this would be very welcome!
