This idea actually proposes the addition of Galvanization to both Towny and Nations: A way to increase the durability of Iron Gear and to give Zinc a good use. I had to put it the category in Nations because otherwise the Discord do not detects it.
¿How Galvanization would actually work?
- In a proper workbench, like a Smithing Table, Anvil, Runic Anvil, a custom machine or other device that might be better fir for the job (Admin will have the last word), you can put Iron or Chainmail gear and "update" it with a Zinc Ingot. This would add a level of Unbreaking to the thing, and unlike the Solid Rune, you could stack this process up to level VII. Maybe less, maybe more, depending on what is finally decided.
- IT WOULD ONLY WORK ON IRON/STEEL GEAR.
- OPTIONAL ADDITION FOR COST BALANCING: The amount of zinc needed for each "Galvanization operation" could be proportional to the desired next level of Unbreaking to attain*. Example: To add Unbreaking I, a single ingot would suffice. From Unbreaking V to VI, it would cost you 6 Zinc Ingots. If the maximum level you could attain was level X, to reach it from 0 you would need 55 zinc ingots.
*If it is really wanted to be more punishing, the required zinc could scale up in an exponential way: 1 Zinc for Unbreaking 1, 2 Zinc for level 2, 4 Zinc for level 3, up to 64 Zinc Ingots for unbreaking VII, turning this level into a sort of natural limit, unless Blocks of Zinc Dust were to be involved.
- As it is essentially a Passive Rune Enchantment in a trenchcoat, an AutoEnchanter could not apply it to other tools.
In short, is to make Zinc a sort of a better Solid Rune, but exclusive for Iron Gear.
