Similar to how an icebreaker can break ice/snow blocks, I believe there should be more options for land utility vehicles, such as an excavator and scraper for surface level terrain developement. When you are trying to develop a town, it would be useful to cut down terrain and level it. Having more variety of movecraft for peaceful means and developmental tasks would entice more people to use movecraft, and thereby make them more familiar with it, potentially getting them to use more advanced vehicles. Currently, the only passive movecraft vehicles on land are the train (transport), truck (transport), and the harvester (utility). To be honest, trains and trucks are **mostly** unused when horses and zepplins exist, leaving realistically only 1 commonly used useful land vehicle for non-pvp means. The two additional utility vehicles I believe would be used by many people in their towns, and become a common thing for the average player looking to develop a large area.
The Excavator-
Speed- 2m/s
* Speed does not increase on roads.
- Must be 15% redstone
- Block size of 200-800
- Must be at least 40% concrete
- Must be at least 4% iron block (The iron blocks will be the digging tool, similar to the harvesters iron bars)
- No more than 2% of blocks may be chests/barrels/etc (The excavator will collect all broken blocks until chests are full, at which point the blocks drop on the ground).
- Consumes normal coal/charcoal fuel.
The blocks it would work on are:
- Stone
- Andesite
- Diorite
- Granite
- Any ore vein
- Wood logs/planks
Limitations:
- It cannot operate below sea level (No underground mining machines)
- It can only operate (break blocks, but can drive outside of claims) within the claims of a town (No you cannot direct control afk a line from New York to California)
- The iron blocks take procedural damage, and eventually need to be replaced every so often (Admin discretion, but 100-150 blocks per replacement wouldnt be too bad) (Dunno if this is possible with Movecraft, but would be neat)
The Scraper-
Speed- 3m/s
* Speed does not increase on roads.
- Must be 10% redstone
- Block size of 200-600
- Must be at least 30% concrete
- Must be at least 3% chain (The chains will be the digging tool, similar to the harvesters iron bars)
- No more than 2% of blocks may be chests/barrels/etc (The excavator will collect all broken blocks until chests are full, at which point the blocks drop on the ground).
- Consumes normal coal/charcoal fuel.
The blocks it would work on are:
- Dirt (All variants, Grass block, Coarse Dirt, etc)
- Sand (Red Sand too)
- Gravel
- Leaf blocks
- Grass
Limitations:
- It cannot operate below sea level (No underground mining machines)
- It can only operate (break blocks, but can drive outside of claims) within the claims of a town (No you cannot direct control afk a line from New York to California)
- The chains take procedural damage, and eventually need to be replaced every so often (see prior to this)
All in all, these two vehicle if possible to add would improve the average CCNet users experience, and expand the great movecraft plugin to be useful in other untouched areas of its utility.
