I know this is never coming to ccnet but let me blurt my shit ok?
So rockets are quite basic, it is a tube with fuel, the fuel burns and goes out the hole at the back, and because of physics, the rocket moves forward, simple as that.
Rockets were used in warfare for longer than you might think, they are present in 1232 AD, literally as tubes of gunpowder that fly towards an enemy, so why not we scale that up? Since we already have tanks, planes and so on why not rockets?
There are two types of rockets in this suggestion, Dumb and Smart Rockets, and in this suggestion only dumb rockets will be explained in detail.
A rocket is represented as a horizontal/vertical stack of 3 to 5 blocks, every rocket must have at least one thruster (Redstone lamp), a fuel tank (Coal Block), and a payload (Later discussed)
The rocket has a unique thing that it drops as it flies, as rockets do not have water to buoy them like torpedoes do.
The base drop rate is one block every 8 blocks decreasing.
This means from the tip of the launcher, the rocket will first drop a block for every 8 blocks travelled, and then it will drop again every 7 blocks and vice versa.
Here is a diagram for idiots.

In essence, the rocket will not fly straight, as it loses height over distance.
Well then, now we got the basics of rocketry and flight path, we will move onto rocket components.
First of all, the Thruster, represented by a Redstone Lamp.
The Thruster is the most important part of a rocket, it is the part that allows a rocket to fly.
Then we have the Fuel Tank, represented by a Coal Block.
The Fuel Tank is vital for the rocket to move, it provides fuel to the thruster and thus allows the thruster to send the rocket flying. The more fuel you add, the longer distance the rocket will fly before beginning to drop. With every fuel tank a +2 blocks to the dropping distance.
then we have the payload, represented by a lot of blocks.
You can actually build a rocket that is just made of the Thruster and the Fuel, and it will work, and fly quite well, but you won’t get any special effects from the payload, so keep that in mind. Every Payload contributes weight, that means every payload has a set amount that will reduce the distance travelled before dropping, (henceforth called DTBD).
The first payload is the Dummy Payload, represented by Wool, any colour will work.
As the name suggests, the Dummy Payload literally does nothing to boost the rocket in any way. It does not contribute weight, it does not contribute to distance, it does nothing.
This payload is exclusively here for the calculations, as a 3 block rocket with the Dummy payload has the base DTBD of 8 blocks, as mentioned above. You can still put wool on your rocket, and it is left in the game as a gag option.
Fun fact, a rocket with no special payload (fuel only or with Dummy Payload) has the same explosive power and radius of a single TNT block.
There are two main types of payload, Offensive, and Utility
The first of the offensive payloads is that of the Heavy Head, represented with an Iron Block.
The Heavy Head just causes the explosion to deal more damage to all targets, blocks and players, need I say more?(DTBD -1)
The second offensive Payload is that of the Shrapnel Head, represented with a Copper Block of any oxidation level.
The Shrapnel Head causes the explosion to deal even more damage to players, but deal half the damage to blocks. (DTBD -1)
The Third offensive Payload is that of the Piercing Head, represented with a Diamond Block.
The Piercing Head causes the explosion to deal extra damage to blocks, (4x the damage to terracotta), but only half the damage to players.(DTBD -2)
The fourth offensive Payload is that of the Explosive Head, represented with a TNT block.
The Explosive Head only increase the radius of the explosion by 3 blocks. (DTBD -1)
These payloads can be mixed and matched, thus you can literally have any combo of blocks on your rocket.
Almost forgot about the Utility Payloads, they basically improve the situation on the battlefield.
First utility payload, the Marker is represented by a Glowstone Block.
This payload’s purpose is to mark your enemy from afar, anyone within the explosive radius of a Marker rocket will glow, and it will be visible to all sides. The glowing will depend if you are enemy or ally.
If someone who is hit is an enemy, he will glow red
If someone who is hit is neutral, he will glow white
If someone who is hit is an ally, then he will glow blue,
and someone who is hit is in the same nation as you, it will glow green. (DTBD -1)
The Second utility payload is the Stun Bomb, represented by an Amethyst Block.
This payload is used to stun whoever is hit, meaning a well placed hit can stun any player in the radius for 10 seconds, enough to give an opportunity for others to attack. However, when I said it can stun any player, I meant ANY player, including your own allies, thus while it may be powerful, If you shoot it at your teammates, they will get stunned too.
Symptoms of Stun includes:
-Blindness
-Slowness II
-Weakness
-Nausea
and -Inability to Jump (DTBD -1)
The Third and last utility payload is the Smoke Bomb, represented by a Haybale.
This payload is the less serious version of the Stun Bomb, where a strike can cause any player in the radius to be blind. Like the Stun Bomb, it affects EVERYONE in the radius. The effects last for 20 seconds, giving your team a chance at fighting back.
(DTBD -1)
These are the rockets, now the launchers.
The launcher for the dumb rocket are simple, just a structure made of stone bricks, stone stairs, an observer, and a few iron bars.
There are two types of rocket launchers, Reloadable and Non-Reloadable.
Non-Reloadable launchers are just that, they are launchers that you cannot reload on the go, you must release to reload. They are much simpler and can have up to 7 rockets on a rack, allowing you to burst fire your rockets.
Reloadable launchers are more difficult, they require a bit more construction and even an iron Block, but the benefit is that they do not require you to release to reload, It will automatically reload every 10 seconds, taking materials from chests/barrels and placing them into the center space of the launcher.
Thus ends this suggestion, probably never making a sequel about smart rockets, but whatever, if you want to know more just ping me on discord.
