A simple suggestion: as of now /compact works on blocks that can be turned back into their original crafting components. This includs iron ingots, diamonds, dried kelp, clay, etc. For these items it is a massive quality of life improvement to be able to compress all the items in your inventoy at once.

The command does not, however, work on items that aren't reversible. I support this as it's generally a helpful safeguard, but I'd also like to ask that an additional keyword: `/compact all` or the like be added which will extend the functionality of /compact to other items which can be turned into larger blocks but which aren't necessarily reversible back to their crafting components. For example, melon slices will be turned into melons, and bamboo into bamboo blocks. It would be a very nice feature to have and I assume fairly straightforward to implement.
