Wooden ship combat is barely a thing on CCNet, and it should be utilized more. Below are the following suggestions regarding this.
Change #1- Moving North Atlantic (read entirety before screeching)
Why-
1. Moving the North Atlantic region to be more centered would make the distance more equal from multiple continents, or at least closer to equal.
2. (See later part of suggestion), moving the North Atlantic region would give a little more breathing room and give a little extra distance between the new suggested naval region and itself.
3. Not much changes, realistically everything would stay the same.
Change #2- Creating a wooden ship region.
Why-
1. Wooden ships are practically unused by anyone with any sense of how CCNet works. You're always better off printing a cargo ship, corvette, or destroyer to handle any specific task.
2. I've heard from numerous players that a wooden ship region would be appreciated, and would implement something new and fun to the server as an additional region to do.
The area to put this region may be complicated to plan, as most of the "central" areas are already used for major regions, however I am suggesting to place it near the Scandinavia region. This could be moved elsewhere (or multiple, add another 1-2 elsewhere), however due to historical naval powers there, it seems as a fitting spot.
Rewards-
Due to the nature of wooden combat, and how its reallly wont cost much to make a fleet of wooden ships, this region should not pay to the region holder what normal regions should. Personally, I suggest $500-$1,000 per day, with 8-24 honey blocks as a daily item payout.
Siege times-
To not conflict with the other, more serious regions, I suggest it take place Sunday 18:30-19:00UTC, and Wednsday, 18:00-18:30UTC.
Points suggestion- (I have no idea, considering I have never seen 15v15 wooden ship fights ever and dont know wooden ship meta)
East Indiamen- Worth 3000pts - 12 cannon capacity
Caravel - Worth 1800pts - 6 cannon capacity
Cog- Worth 600pts - 2 cannon capacity.
Thats it.
