There is little to no color possible with forts at the moment with readily available blocks, especially if you want to use a non-dark and dreary color palette like deepslate blackstone etc. I personally am trying to build a sandstone fort out of majority sandstone quartz and end stone blocks however I can barely add any real color to it without sacrificing giant amounts of durability in regards to the fort defenses. This is especially a problem as my fort is located in the middle east which is famous for some of the ugliest forts on the server due to deepslate/blackstone blocks looking absolutely horrid when mixed with sand.
I also want to harken back to ages when colors, geometry, and patterns were used in larger-scale buildings, such as those of the ancient Babylonian and Assyrian Empires and the Caliphates (especially in regard to many of the Mosques and churches of the time, which look absolutely amazing).
This is impossible without having a larger color palette, especially when it comes to glazed terracotta which is, in my opinion, one of the most useful building blocks in the game, especially for the type of build I am trying to construct.
