Eastindiaman Speed Buff Back

Eastindiaman ship is a wooden type ship and these tend to get little to no attention by the community in general. As someone who builds wooden ships I find the speed of Eastindiamen quite absurd. The speed is actually a complete joke. It's perhaps the slowest movecraft,second only to cogs. Using one is a suicide if its an ocean wide trip as literally every ship can intercept it.

The thing is all epicly detailed wooden ships need to be over 2k blocks and cargo on wooden ships is larger on eastindiamen.

I suggest the speed be something similiar to that of a Destroyer or a bit more, so basically a bit faster than a dreadnought but still slower than corvettes/caravels that can intercept them,for the sake of giving this ship a chance of sailing the 7 seas.

Wooden boat powered by wind, why should that be faster than an engine powered boat?

Maybe a bit slower than Cargoship so they dont get rendered useless. Also don't underestimate the power of wind sails. Eastindiaman ships were used for colonial affairs of ginormous distances, what makes u talk about wind powered ships and their speed without research? The reason they became outclassed isnt speed but armour,in reality they could even hit hard against enemy ships as you could mount late cannons but the armour defficiency made the ships unpopular.

I've grown up in boats, you should just be thankful since you can move your wooden ship without having to care about actual wind

You have 0 point as other crafts can vary in a lot of other issues even if they dont have a sail but in minecraft you can just /cruise like you said but eastindiaman shouldn't be penalised according to your logic that we're lucky we dont have to care for wind so it should be slower than a row boat. The statement was clownish itself and every1 that lives in the med coast knows a thing or two about ships and has the knowledge to know that a row boat or a kayake aint faster than an eastindiaman,even if its against the wind.
