Errrrr I havent written a suggestion in a year probably. But I am thinking since this SOI thing got added
What if you didnt have to occupy a place for SOI stuff? It is a push to forced sieges currently and even Im being sieged for this reason. I wouldnt say I care enough tbh but Im thinking of this and a way to make it seem fair and not so exploitable:
Allow a nation to join a sphere of influence of another, basically, allow it to surrender its SOI to another for a specific time:
Example command:
/n sphere surrender Great_Nordic_Empire 17d (adds all ur forts in their SOI, allowing you only to defend your own fort should you be sieged and nothing else)
Could be more refined for specific towns aswell, for it to be more specific.
/n sphere surrender Colvmbia Imperium_Romanum 21d
(Same as above but for specific fort)
This could be made with a minimum of 9 days like DP system worked so it isnt rapidly exploited every week and also the surrendering nation should be able to start a 1 day revolt siege to undo this effect as for the one offering to not be scammed into surrendering their SOI forever. This siege could be started with a... fence? Instead of banner to differentiate from other revolt, or maybe this fence can be used to undo the effect from a normal type siege. If revolter loses they can be full occupied after as if it was a normal siege.
Speaking of siege and SOI there should be special siege outcome interaction where you could place a fence to force a fort into the SOI of your nation through a siege after winning a normal siege instead of occupying it.
This forced state of SOI could last 9 days before nation could 1 day revolt against it.
Imo it is needed to not force nations in stupid huge wars with casual 2% taxes and resource loss, a sort of soft power occupiation that wouldnt affect things negatively.
Ofc normal 12,000 max distance should apply for this as with normal sieges and occupiation, maybe 2,000 extra for SOI hence 12,000 but not necessary
