***SIEGEWAR/TOWNY UPDATE IDEA***
Goals:
- To increase area to fight during sieges.
- To reduce claims needed during combat.
- To prevent the need of proxxy mayors entirely.
Mechanics:
- Port towns and Siege base towns would have access to a 'garage' multiblock, which basically has the ability to spawn vehicles from a 'garage dimension'.
- Siegebase would become an official towntype that a nation could create each alliance would have one siegebase per fort (Friendly and unfriendly) of standardised size to prevent people sheildig zepps or howitzers or using geographic advantage.
- About a 8-15 chunk range away from the fort where no peaceful town claims can be to provide good space for movecraft and pvp.
Practical issues:
- Staff should offer players to world edit a new fort. This would negate any advantages in design and act as a clean slate. Staff should say you can have a fort around the same size as your old one, we will world edit out your old and world edit in your new. BUT its should be on players to remove movecraft and materials from forts.
- 40 day peace period to allow players to adjust (this wont kill the server but build anticipation)
- Some towns would have to removed, remolded or even unclaimed like koinsberg.
Final Note:
*Our problems arise from the fundemantal issues of game mechanics, and if we dont solve the issues with mechanics they will forever lead to cursed and unfun metagaming in the spirit of competativeness and winning. By removing these advantages gained and making them impossible by wokring with the playerbase we remove the need for this metagaming. Staff would NEED to get involved. I can already see admins huffing and puffing at this idea, but this would make the idea acceptable to players and would remove competative advantages to be gained. Yes its not easy, yes its a lot of work for both staff and players, but if we can bite the bullet now we can hopefully secure more fun gameplay and easier staffing in the future.*
