Im sure you're talking about us, we don't remove bounties unless the person chasing it gives up, if someone does get killed, it means the person that killed her did get the full bounty price, I don't keep any money for myself, all the money goes towards the mercenaries that do the job, they return me the head and the items of the person, no exploiting is being done, simply we have enough money to use the bounty system as its properly intended, specially considering I consulted a staff member on how I should iteract with the bounty system.

I mean tracking for a bounty is kind of needed otherwise its to easy to hide. but removing it after tracking someone could be fixed by maybe automatically making it so if someone is tracking the bounty target, with the special compass then the person who set the bounty cannot cancel it anymore.

I’m going to clarify my point because I think it’s being misunderstood, maybe cause my bad English but I don’t think bounties themselves are the issue. The issue is the tracking feature tied to them.

The server has a mechanic that allows players to hide from the map whoch creates risk vs reward gameplay outside claims. However if someone can simply pay money to bypass that hiding mechanic and reveal a players location anyway, then map hiding effectively becomes meaningless for anyone who isn’t extremely poor.

Since gold mining is one of the main economic things if not the main money making way in the server happens outside claims, this turns leaving town into “be tracked if someone feels like spending money.” Even if no rules are being broken (which I didn’t mean you were doing when I said exploiting Fake4) the mechanic creates a situation where wealthy groups can permanently deny safe economic activity to smaller players. Bounties should be about rewarding kills not functioning as a paid tracking system for big nations

If someone wants to hunt another player, they should have to actually find them and not just be able topurchase their coordinates.

Another problem is that your for some reason able to set bounties on people and them not being able to see it, hidden bounties. Which is crazy to me because if your mining you shouldn’t have to check /bounty total every five minutes to see if someone is on the way to you

It is a scummy way of using a system which I doubt was intended to be used this way and I can not lie if it’s allowed then people will just sit silverfarming in their towns more than they already are, which isn’t what I think is needed for this server or what the staff are striving for

i wouldn't think tracking would be removed, perhaps instead some small balance changes, like private bounties being removed making it easier for people to know when they are wanted.

maybe like the bounty compass only tracks till within 1k blocks of the player or smt
