I simply fail to understand the logic behind gold standard in Minecraft, the purpose of gold standard in real life was to make it impossible to just simply make money out of thin air, because gold is not very easy to come by. In Minecraft, having gold standard just means you can mine for a certain amount of time and gain certain amount of money, which simply means, you can grind and gain money from it, seemingly out of thin air, so, how is it even an upgrade from n1 outposts, where you could, grind any recourse and gain money from it, in both cases, it is true that, time=money and both are just an infinite grind, atleast n1 outposts actually required you to ship the recourses to them, so it in a way insentivised use of movecraft as intended . even jobs plugin does the same thing, and in essence, mining job isnt any different from gold standard, you mine, you get the ores, and then you get money on top of it, (with jobs plugin its from job and now it is from gold) .
My ideas about better alternative on how to make money would be this :
1. Calculate average time needed to grind some non-automatically grindable recourse (or just ask me for it, i did it for most of recourses alrady as means to find out their "production price"), and make it sellable to outposts (netherrack, cookies, cobblestone, iron, whatever just not wool or something you can farm automatically) this would essentially be just as bad as gold standard in terms of being able to make money from thin air, but it would insentivise actually moving items to outposts to sell them, and, would also make interesting mechanics possible, such as "shipping companies" that buy said items locally for slightly lower price,(so you dont have to waste time moving it and can spend more time griding, therefore earning more money) and then ship it to outpost once they are amassed, for profit, or simply towns that attract players by having copy pasted shops from outposts, and do the same thing, just not for profit, but as an effort to bring community together.
Also Outposts could sell things such as concrete or gunpowder or diamonds, or even exp so there is reasonable "money dump" so money is never seen as "having no uses" and inflation is less likely to happen.
2. Make "Taverns" which have NPC's that buy perfectly crafted brewery plugin drinks, but catch is that each tavern NPC buys a drink that is made from recourses not obtainable in their region (NPC that buys drinks made from cactus on Antartica, or something like that) , this way, things such as player-made breweries that buy recourses from players, make drinks and sell them to NPC's could be a thing, which would make people actually ship recourses such as wheat, potatoes , sugar cane , etc. to breweries, and also, since brewery plugin drinks are unstackable, they are very hard to transport, so breweries could sell drinks for lower price, for players willing to do shipping to turn the profit. (this would never work in combination with gold standard cause its just a waste of time if you can make money on easier way)
3. Bring back Jobs plugin and remove gold standard, this one is simple, gold standard simply doesnt work, its basically just the same as mining job from plugin, so haivng more jobs than just mining is an upgrade, and can not be a downgrade in any way.
(most of those ideas dont work together, but that doesnt mean they couldnt be somehow combined if necessary)
