Give mayors/comayors of towns block logging tools/commands to check if theft has occured Back

This is for both nations and towny, I believe a large number of tickets are caused by random things going missing from chests in claimed towns, usually taken by people with trust.

Problem is many leaders of towns don't necessarily know if it was taken by someone that is supposed to have those things, or if it was taken by someone that is not supposed to have those things. So of course this leads to a bunch of time wasted that is taken from both the reporting town member and staff team.

I suggest a block logging tool/command that could only be used in your own town if you have a certain rank (or maybe not a certain rank as sometimes low ranking members have stuff taken aswell) so you can check who and what was taken and have a non-ticket alternative to getting your items back. Would also speed up tickets in the case of someone purposely stealing things.

As a staff member, I'm unconvinced this would make our lives easier.

In general, theft reports are the easiest tickets we deal with. Most of the process can be tackled by helpers in a few minutes, with the only admin action occurring when a player wishes for their items to be refunded. This suggestion only deals with that first portion, which takes very little time off of staff. Ticket clog occurs when complex situations occur with players, whether that be through plugins or specific rules. Most of these situations are very straightforward, meaning they are respites from other items we deal with.

There's also the fact that not only would Zaify need to make massive changes to the plugin we use for logging, but staff would need to help out with the learning process. Block logging isn't difficult once you get the hang of it, but it's really annoying to learn, meaning I would have to spend time teaching players how to utilize the plugin as opposed to doing it myself.

I really appreciate the intent to make the staff's lives easier. Sincerely, I do. Unfortunately, behind the scenes this is a pretty complex machine, which doesn't lend credence to simple solutions.

I remember I used to play on a server where their equivalent of mayors had block logging tools. It was basically a special stick and they could use it to block log, all they had to do to use it was click.
