The Canadian Times: Past to Present, Tertia to Canada
Tercera News is no more and now we are The Canadian Times. I am your host and writer, Lord Tre_2020 and below is a summary of The Kingdom of Tertia’s past leading up to the present formation of the Empire of Canada.
CHAPTER 1: In the Beginning…
Long long ago in a distant place called Australia, spawned a new player with the dream to navigate the seas like the Vikings of old. This player spent the first several days of his gameplay, traveling on foot along the coast of Australia then of Asian before finding a tree. With his bare fists, he mined a few logs of wood and crafted his first vanilla boat. Using this boat, he navigated the seas until he rested upon South Africa. It is here that he had hoped to begin a town and, eventually, a nation of his own but the powers that be had other plans.
Jomsborg (later New_Jomsborg) was a small town on the southern coast of Africa. The player’s goal was to grow this town and make it the place of his nation. Unfortunately, Katipunan forced the player to join them or else be occupied. Over the months that followed, the player plotted for his freedom, building trust, and fighting in their military. Then, that day came. Imperium Romanum desired to take down Katipunan and the player desired his freedom so he made a deal with the Romans… The rest is classified.
Fleeing from Africa, the player made his way to the far right corner of the map, establishing a new town and nation under the influence of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon called Dragonstone! It was yet another port but on the other side of its mountain was a walled town to protect the inside from enemies. The player built and built, mostly alone, to establish his first CCNet nation but… once again, the powers that be had other plans. Russia, who was regularly at war with Japan at that time, viewed this small nation as a source of future income and so they sieged it, bringing a dreadnaught to rip through the town with ease. Nevertheless, the player never surrendered. After repairs, the player revolted, then revolted again, and again, never ceasing in his spirit until he realized he would never win. That is when he decided to take a break from CCNET.
CHAPTER 2: The Land of New Beginnings…
Upon his return to ccnet a few months later, he attempted to restart his town and nation but quickly realized that it’s impossible to grow with the giant nations of both Japan and Russia hindering his progress. So, after much preparation, he advanced (pun intended) to mid-Canada.
It is here that the town called Advance was created and, shortly after, the nation called the Kingdom of Tertia, named after the player himself, Tre_2020.
CHAPTER 3: Standing firm…
Vinovia attacked the young Tertia and occupied it. The revolt went smoothly with no Vinovians coming to keep it. Later, the Empire of Columbia came with several of its allies to attack and occupy Advance. Coalition came to assist the young Tertia toward the end of the siege but, without a proper fort or a siege base nor much time left in the siege at all, there truly wasn’t anything they could do. After some time, Advance evolved into a true fort through the help of Tertia’s friend, Eatmadi. So, when the revolt siege occurred, the victory was assured.
We fast forward many months in, ImGnomeAlone, the former king of his snowy nation further north merged into the Kingdom of Tertia. Things were looking good. Tertia had many towns and a few active players. Even when cultist left, Tertia stayed in America through all of its politics and wars. They stayed, never surrendering to anyone that came. But then, the foreign thieves spawned.
At the time, no one knew these foreigners would become Tertia’s greatest enemy but it was soon revealed upon the construction of their siege base several months later.
It was thanks to Tre_2020’s tempban that allowed those thieves to attack Advance, wait for it to fall to ruin, loot it, and then claim it as their own. But, Tre_2020’s quick thinking and strategy allowed the Kingdom of Tertia to continue to exist for several more months. He quickly forged his new fort further west called Fort Evolution. The foreign thieves came once again to face Tertia in battle and occupied the fort. Soon after, Cultist revived and formed its new alliance, Phoenix Federation.
At first, Tertia was pro-coalition- after all, Tre_2020 had been in Katipunan as well as friends with Japan prior to coming to Canada, but everything changed when their leaders decided to not only invite the foreign thieves into their ranks but also grant their leaders high positions in coa. This prioritization of power over loyalty to its long-time members made Tre_2020 realize that, after all this time, there was no choice but to switch from coalition to Phoenix Federation… so he did. With the help of Phoenix and Imperium Romanum, Tertia stomped out the foreign thieves and their new coalition allies, turning the map of Canada gold once again.
CHAPTER 4: A New Banner…
Over the year+ that the Kingdom of Tertia existed, it received many offers to merge into other nations. Imperium of Man, Aztec, even the foreign thieves dared to ask prior to attacking. The nation of Canada was re-founded under the name Canadian Dominion. At first, CD and Tertia were allies, helping each other against that foreign thief. Tre_2020 didn’t want to merge for a very long time. He believed in Tertia and the name grew on him like a father to his child. Eventually, Tre_2020 finally decided that it was time for a change. Time to evolve and become stronger. After all, Gnome and Tre couldn’t do everything on their own forever. So, Tre_2020 agreed to merge with Canadian Dominion to create the Empire of Canada.
CHAPTER 5: The Challenges…
Like the stories of the old kingdoms and new alike, there have been a set of old laws that stood above all authority. It was from this inspiration that Tre_2020 created the Three Challenges. These challenges were forged to determine the leader of this new empire and the terms of the merging process by extension. Tre_2020 originally intended for the challenges to occur between himself and Grey, however, Grey desired to call upon a champion instead. Like the laws of old, Tre_2020 accepted this champion, Ekko, on Grey’s behalf and so the challenges began.
The Warrior Challenge was first. Three 1v1s of pot pvp, best two out of three. Being rusty, as the last siege he was in was about a month ago, Tre_2020 could not win but he was confident that he would win the second challenge. The Navigator Challenge was a race to the southern world border using only vanilla and hitch-hiking methods. Apparently, the two challengers had the same plan, which will not be revealed here. Either way, it was as if the gods of Minecraft, itself, decided the victory before the challenge even began. Not even three minutes in, Ekko, champion of Grey, found a ruined town and in one of the chests was a 14.18 speed, 5.something jump horse in one of the chests…. There was nothing Tre_2020 could have done. The gods have spoken. Ekko arrived at the southern border 2-3 minutes before Tre_2020 would have arrived. With that, there was no reason to conduct the third challenge as Ekko already won 2/3 of the challenges. And so, the terms of the merge was set. The Kingdom of Tertia will merge into Canadian Dominion, making Grey the first leader of the Empire of Canada!
CHAPTER 6: Into the Future…
To keep the name “Tertia”, Tre_2020 decided to rename Fort Evolution to Fort Tertia that very night and, under the inspiration of the challenges, began plans to construct a great city which will soon be known as Tertia Olympia! The construction process will take quite awhile but I’m sure everyone will come to enjoy what this new town will have to offer.
