I always thought it WAS 30 days, but yes 35-50 (along with a good amount of notification before a town ruins, maybe something in the /t so people can notify others to log on?) would be very good. Doubly so considering you can make a town to claimblock someone as a novice then it takes 3 months to claim some random area as a novice made a town when they first joined then never logged on again.

The notification could also be added to the Keith Bot as a lot of discords have that added in already anyways.

35 days is bad because some bans are at least one month in time so if you are a mayor the odds are high your town would collapse. a month is very little time and taking a break / not having access to your computer because of vacations etc can easily come close to a month.

discord dms bot and what that other guy suggested simply don't work if the mayor doesn't have a discord account or if the town itself is inactive (which is highly likely because noone going to play with a dead mayor)

90 days is good and if you need space just open a support ticket and you'll probably be helped depending on the circumstances

Just have it so it doesn’t effect banned players, and if you go on vacation for a month just give mayor to someone else.. or log on your phone or something

To clarify, this is not a towny feature.

This is the server deleting player information (causing the mayor slot to be empty, so the town falls)

Making player data deletion 30 days would cause more problems then it solves

To correct Rick (sorry Rick), this is actually a Towny feature - there isn't any deletion of playerdata, only resident data after 90 days of inactivity

That being said, I don't know how to feel about that. Bans can last for 3 months or longer. Some people can take breaks or quit for months at a time. We need to be careful about deleting towns (especially large towns) because they can be the culmination of dozens, if not hundreds of hours of work

Yea but that doesn't actually help with the number of random towns with nothing in them and their mayors who logged on 1 time and won't log on again. It feels like there is not enough space on ccnet for new nations to be made or compete with other nations. Where would you make a nation in Europe with a port? Nowhere in Europe could you make a nation with a decently sized fort and a nice town. Same with almost all of the world. There is small sections but it comes with the issue of having 20 towns claim blocking you.
