Uh, actually, I'd quite like to be able to defend my town and not have to nolife 24/7 to defend shitholeistan or whatever third-world town that's sieged on a Monday. Friday works for most people so they can actually show up at sieges and not get wiped out while they're at school.

Nations have different timezones , you dont have to stay online 24/7 its your fault for staying online that long if you do , why do other servers not have this problem and nations players cry about it . Its because zaify spoiled you too much

I think the days of surprise sieges are long gone. Unless you set up a siege base and transport hundreds of dubs there in just one night, defenders will always be alerted to the attackers' preparations. And if you attack without a siege base, I don't see how you could win unless you're attacking an inactive or defenseless town. Towards the beginning of N2 this was possible, but now everyone has built massive forts stocked with many supplies. So I don't think sieges can ever return to being surprise attacks even if you could start a siege every day; it isn't a realistic goal with the current state of things.

The way I see it, the server is split into two alliances is because of stuff like:
- Player politics
- Major nations stockpiling supplies for almost two years
- There are a limited number of PvPers,and the major nations have a monopoly on them. So you need to ally with a major nation to survive.

I don't see how making sieges more frequent helps resolve this problem. If anything, it would accelerate burnout and make people quit faster, as the latest sieges have already been doing. And I don't think driving one side to quit and becoming "king of the ashes" is what anyone wants except for the most extreme metagamers, because having no-one to fight means no more PvP.

I kinda agree here. Even if your nation leader is screaming at you, ultimately nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to cap for 12 hours a day. But I can see how this isn't as simple if the other side starts no-lifing in order to win, which incentivises you to no-life in return. So maybe we need to start talking about how to discourage no-lifing at sieges or stop it altogether.



The only way I can see sieges becoming more frequent sustainably is if:

- we significantly reduce the amount of pots and other supplies needed for a siege, so grinding and preparations less of a time sink
- we lower the time commitment needed for sieges, so that people can't/don't need to spend whole days fighting even if they want to
- if nothing else changes, then people getting a lot more free time

But I think all of these range from unlikely to impossible.

Firstly ,you can probably add a slimefun machine that needs energy , you put material in it and it makes pots quickly but also it uses alot of energy . That could help alot (people who want mcmmo pots like absorption still have to manually make them). Secondly , making sieges have longer battle session but also longer breaks too . So you can get more free time and you can manage your time better . To win sieges you have to get more players and no life more than your enemies , so it became quantity is better than quality as you can gun spam and it wouldnt require any skill and thats where the gun nerf controversy starts . Nerfing guns could possibly let quality overtake quantity big time

Tough, you can have several Redstone-based automatic Breweries working non-stop if you really need pots that desperate and doesn't mind losing Alchemy McMMO lvs. There is no need to have an SF equivalent of an fast Brewery as it would just be yet another fork towards the maintenance of the server.

having "instantaneous" brewing is not a good idea imo

Imagine you are an attacker and have drilled into their bunker and destroyed their pot storage and their large scale multiblock brewers, only to find a single block somewhere else is sustaining the defender's pot usage

Also, I don't know how easy it is to prevent SF machines from working in peaceful towns

If this were implemented it would completely destroy sieges, you say that you shouldnt be able to show up to every siege, but for nations that are predominatly in one timezone it would completely kill them as they would just get sieged when they are offline lose 40k points and instantly lose because the attackers have such a large headstart because they decided to nolife while the defenders werent even online to acknowledge the siege.

As a grass enjoyer and sun connosieur I dont wanna be sieged by some people that have nothing to do in their daily lives but play 40 hour block game sessions. When this thing was added what happened is tons of asians had online school while the rest of the world was physical (im taking this as an example) so like by the time a euro/american was awake, home and ready to play siege was already 40k for those nolife masscapers that could play during every second of their day.

We can all agree, even if weekend isnt my most free time, that weekends are an universal filtering for nolifers because everyone can be on atleast on the weekends.

It can be infuriating to see your target get prepared for a set day of the week in case of a siege, but as stated before a siege base needs to be placed and resources shuffled which ruins your "surprise" attack since most siege towns need 2-3 days min to set up

And putting your siege town down weeks in advance also wouldn't help (it's painfully obvious when players are amassing for the siege)
