CCNet Nations (2nd iteration) has been around for what is gonna be it's 2nd year anniversary this month. The nations on the map are pretty much the same with few additions but maybe tons of internal changes. The Nords, the Teutons, the Japanese, Shinsei, the Romans even the Brits whom were extinct for a while are back on the map 2 years later. The only few new nations I can thing of are Russia, Sahara and the Cultists though for some of these they just filled empty uninhabited places on the map in perhaps whats the only time in the server that every continent is active.
But how the hell can a new player set up a nation nowadays? Lets totally exclude Europe for this cuz Europe is filled to the brim and it's just impossible to make a nation without breaking 80 rules. But every other continent is inhabited now by very territorial nations with end game industry, years and months of catch up and more than enough manpower to crush any new nation that tries to exist.
So what does a new nation that gets created do? They usually side with the enemy of their closest nation simply to survive however even if they get sieged, honestly they wont be defended by their allies because they lack the bare minimum to get people to fight for them. Potions and advanced slimefun and movecraft etc etc etc, basically a lot of stuff that brings in allies to actually come and help.
Someone may ask but what's wrong we're all perfectly fine as it is. Maybe the real reason the geopol is stale is because new nations get stomped out of the existance as soon as they're made with like a 2% chance of survival if they live in an active place like Africa and Asia. Imo newer nations are a good thing for the geopol which is the whole point of the server. Nation Building is the main theme, War is just an aspect of Nation Building.
I've been watching suggestions like sf machine that makes pots and even Zaify has considered to me once about making SF craftable armour compatible with disenchanters and prot4 so we can make sets from slimefun.
Such additions imo would make it way easier to catch up with all these mega alliances and territorial nations. It also would make grinding less of a bother for the said nation. If sets and pots are more accessible there will be more fights and more integration of newer people into the CCNet battlefields.
And no this wouldnt make unpeaceful towns useless. You still need to put said machines in the unpeaceful town ans u still would need to grind swords and other weapons and tools, not armour, the traditional way due to lack of sf equipment that would match with swords and tools.
