i agree that forts should look nicer, but this doesn't solve it. climbing tools only work on stone type blocks, not all blocks but deepslate. people just use deepslate in their ganks because it has high blast resistance.
i did recently make a suggestion to add more blocks with high blast resistance to increase the block pallet, so forts are not just an ugly grey. it was accepted, so maybe that'll help make forts look better

Deepslate shouldnt have higher blast resistance than other fort blocks though? They all have same blast resist (unless zaify buffed it from vanilla without buffing normal stone bricks or other fort blocks) and block hp so no clue why everyone still keeps using it. And as said above, climbing pick only works on "natural blocks" aka normal stone, dirt, grass and such to help climb mountains and random holes

climbing picks have alot more job to do in siege than u think, im saying this cause climbing picks assists me well to survive and even get a kill in 20v1 or any outnumbered fight, im also able to counter climbing pickaxe users even if im outnumbered. and those reasons arent good reasons to remove them in sieges, if u do that, they will become 90% useless and only situational
