Did you know that minecraft has a software limit on how many players can join a single instance? Well now you do.

I'm no expert, but increasing player capacity is not as simple as changing a single number.

But how come that there is some servers that can hold 150+ at once? ( just asking )

- They don't use intensive plugins (e.g., Movecraft, Slimefun)
- They are able to afford better hardware
- Most importantly, they severely compromise on vanilla gameplay (e.g., 3 or 4 chunk render distance, no hoppers, no mobs, etc)

We don't operate at a lower player cap because we want there to be a 50 man queue.
It's like that due to performance reasons.

We have to ensure that all players experience nations to it's fullest. We are not a vanilla factions server that can cut optimisation corners by ruining the user experience.

- No, we will not suddenly change our player limit to 200.

oh and do note that zaify explained about people on the actual server, which should not be confused with a network aka multiple lobbies, minigames and worlds that can hold few players each but total in thousands of players.

Oh and with each newer version the performance of the game goes down for multiplayer, so og 1.8 servers like factions can hold like 300+ players without issues
