first i didn't want to suggest this, cause it's alot of work that can be avoided, and that it won't give server enough profit for too much work, but even if this new keep inventory thing works, it will just ruin all the big sieges on the server and server will just die for me and most of my friends.. so i'll just suggest it since there is nothing else i can do.
this update was done in sake of newbies, people who weren't as experienced as 70% of server and who were quitting most of the times cause of inexperience and weakness, lacking resources, etc. so zaify made sieges more cheap, alot more cheap and unexpensive (for newbies). all this with sacrificing experienced player's big sieges on server.
by keep inventory u do not lose just profit from sieges, u lose profit from fights, reasons rich in sets players were pvping weren't just sets or heads, they are just bonus, main reasons are:
1) drain enemy, give them maximum amount of damage with pvp so they can struggle fighting back.
2) spawn them back in place where their current town state is, and most likely they don't have access to their set stash, so they struggle coming back to siege/finding set for themselves
3) Points, points from kills are mostly useless, there are rare situations where one side who has alot weaker pvpers have mass cap on banner and each death costs them around 1200 points but even that is not enough profit from kills now.
4) stop gunspammers, gun spammers hold weapon which is 3x stronger and cheaper than netherite sword with strength 2, they are basically ranged netherite swords with strength 2 but even stronger, and now after they die they will just come back and do the exact same thing cause guns and ammo isn't as expensive as sets (sets are cheap too).
besides, now that zaify removed explosions outside battle session, enemies can rebuild cannons and other defensive abilities forts have, and after keep inventory update pvp is 100% useless outside session, people will say that session breaks are so people can go back to bunker and organize their plans or anything but that's not it, offside (battle session off) moments have alot more value, like getting on enemy roofs, keeping them occupied, etc. and now thats completely useless.
sieges will transform from strategical and brain using sieges to useless, pointless, riskless kindergarten.
now to the point, i have solution for newbies. i do not know how is this possible, i do not know how long will this take, i do not know IF is this possible, but what if instead of "Towny" gamemode, we get "Nations Sieges Training Camp", it will be basically same as nations but with different rules which will keep newbies safe and at the same time they learn things about sieges and nations experience, instead of ruinning experience of OG players, and helping out newbies, do it so OGs still have fun with server and newbies have chance to adapt.
i can give u some details like, experienced players who main Nations can not go in there violently like they can not start sieges, or pvp at all. idk how is it going to be possible but its alot better than downdating Nations to kindergarten level.
make training camp, not ruin nations. ideas would help me out here.
I highly dislike small nations or newbies not being able to adapt and their towns getting sieged/destroyed which makes them quit. but ruining nations is not solution.
