the point of armor is to reduce damage, but not at the expense of fun. that's why enchanted golden apples are disabled on almost every minecraft server, and turtle master/golden apples are disabled on nations. just because it's practical, doesn't make it fun. if an op sword was added that 2 shot people, then it also wouldn't be fun. using the same argument "that's the point of a weapon" to justify it dealing insane damage wouldn't hold any merit either

Reinforced armor still has bad durability, so you just have to survive in the 1v1 until his set starts breaking. It will break sooner then your dia armor, and then its an easy kill

i mean, can't the same be said about health potions? it is the same concept, they both prolong fights and they both can and will eventually run out during fights

according to some calculations i did before, if you self produce the reinforced boots they would cost you around $250 for a pair which is around the same price for buying enchanted diamond boots. if you take like 4 reinforced boots with you to a fight you are risking the loss of an additional $1,000 which is not a small amount considering how many fights take place during the whole siege period and how fast the reinforced armour breaks

what could be done to please both the god tier pot pvpers who can't accept loss and people who don't want to get dominated by them constatly is excluding the reinforced armour from the keep inventory feature in sieges or make it drop when it has lower than 50% of its durability left

Reinforced boots are cheap because they need only 4 reinforced alloy ingots to craft them and you can make a pair set of 2 which you can keep in your inventory in case your boots break you just wear the another pear of reinforced boots and when they break again the enemy's diamond helmet and boots are going to break and then you won the fight

I'm not sure if they're really worth 1,000, /value is pretty misleading when it comes to smaller amounts and it really depends on the nation.

It's hard to grind those boots for newbies, not for any developed nation

First of all you dont take 4 boots, you would only take maybe 2 since they have half the durability of diamond ones
Secondly they reduce about 35% of the incoming damage but when you account for the food regen that goes to 43% or more depending on food you use that you need to heal less with your potions
And lastly price wise, when you account for all the items you use which are 4500, 300-600 more or less for 35% damage reduction is practically nothing (before you lost maybe 3000 since netherite sword doesnt drop with binding).

If keep inventory stays it might be better option to just add back +1 armor toughness on all pieces instead of reinforced boots because then we have +10% damage reduction instead of +35% and the cost is quite a bit more but we dont drop it on death if its above 25% dura

Reinforced boots are barely above 1k, I don't know how you're taking it up to the 4.5K price mark, and people can carry up to 4 of them, there's no limit

i agree reinforced armour turns u into iron man and makes it way too easy to win 1v1s , 1v2s etc

I used reinforced for the first time yesterday and it was absolutely fucking braindead, it should be removed outright. At the VERY least nerfed into prot 4 diamond.

I took almost no damage and was winning a 2v1 against a guy who was equal and a guy who was outright better than me, nevermind the number of pots they used, upwards of a dozen meanwhile all I had to do was eat and I didn't even need to use an hp pot the whole fight.

I have no idea how these are allowed in sieges lmao.

That and I'm tired of seeing 1 hp go down for a full-strength 2 netherite sword crit, no one who wears these boots dies unless the boots break (which they never do because every gorilla that uses them has 15 pairs in their inv) or they're in a 15v1. In another instance I survived a 9v3 while constantly getting critted for a solid 3 minutes, 7 hp pots used. It's utterly ridiculous and it NEEDS to be removed.

I keep seeing people say it’s balanced because they break easy, but I’ve tested it and 2 reinforced boots last longer than a dia helmet. If you want to be safe u can even bring 3 without any consequences. You won’t even lose the pair as long as u switch it before it breaks, which is very easy to do. Losing 1 or maybe 2 inventory slots is still extremely worth it, and anyone that argues against that is just being silly. By wearing these, u essentially gain an extra inventory of pots, maybe even two inventories if you know how to abuse it to its extreme

full set of dia armor ~750 without boots, potions 100, food another ~50 if you use better food, netherite sword 1.5k, binding for netherite sword 2k, any additional items such as crossbow, shield, swift pants and so on can be counted on top of that as well. The reinforced boots are 300 a piece or less on their own and you do not lose all the items i listed (if they have binding) but i just listed the initial cost of all the equipment

As far as its balance, yes its busted to have +35% damage reduction. The only way to see it as balanced is if you think that the damage of netherite swords without netherite armor is too much. If its set to prot 7 instead of 9 it will have +20% or something damage reduction which is still a bit ehh. If people want more damage reduction i would suggest again maybe getting netherite armors to give +1 armor toughness as vanilla and have them cost 1 ingot per piece which wont be that expensive if the keep inventory stays and would counter balance netherite swords bonus damage

Reinforced doesnt break easy, its insane how much damage it absorbs, horseback netherite sword did like 2 dmg iirc and guns get like absorbed fully

I boycott reinforced armor myself as I once tried it in a seige and no one could have hurt me, it was crazy, just bring spares in your inv and you are unstoppable

I agree with carb. Like I’m bad and stand no chance in a fair fight against anyone yet when we got sieged I was fighting a 1v1 with them on and was standing a chance without having buffs. They aren’t fair when a person who hates 1.9 pvp and sits on a tank all siege can stand a chance against an actual pvper.
