and when the tree falls it takes a month for the sapling to fall if it even does.

its not sustainable.

every other wood is easy to get please make birch not impossible

What you do is get a hoe, that has a higher drop rate of saplings if you use a hoe, and use fortune if you really want to maximize it.

You can also plant them in 5x5 squares and bonemeal them, use felling.

If you are looking for planks, or another birch block that is not the log, use a woodcutter and stone cutter to maximize what you need.

Make birch swamp moss biomes in sweden and finland, they have those and i live in finland and the forests are really really cool! It could be an easier way to get birch more near and it would introduce a new biome which i love to explore (also add rats)
