This is a problem I have been noticing for quite some time now. Did anybody notice that the entire server politics just simply revolve around a handful of nations and as a small nation to have any relevancy on the server you need to become their vassals. Isn't this a little weird I mean when was the last time you saw something interesting like a small nation defeating a large one. Now some might say that this is how it should be but I would say it shouldn't. Being a big nation and having huge industries you can be almost undefeatable and this makes the overall server boring. Don't take me wrong but think about it, the same old nations just chilling and sometimes fighting each other , never feeling threatened as somebody other than their rival can uproot them. I think it would have been a good thing if the war mechanics had a little more challenge. The small nations have literally no way of defeating the larger ones as war has become as who can grind more and like build a giant fort or something. I also read the above suggestions on coup and I think it should be a more player based process rather than making it a server mechanic. A coup should be like a couple of towns together launch an attack on the oppressor nation and if they win they can become independent rather than just to be able kill their leader which was I think the previous mechanic.

If a small nation gets attacked by a big one, the enemy of the big one will come to help the small one

carb that basically means smaller nations cant rival bigger nations, hes talking about small nation v big nation not big nation, small nation v big nation

I disagree with this suggestion as
1. All the big nations used to be small nations when they started out. The players invested their time in the server to grind which basically has been helping them now.
2. It's already player based since the more the people (active) in the nation the faster it grows.

While I agree with you, there's no obvious solution to this. I don't think coups would lead to substantive change — they certainly didn't when they still existed. If you have more ideas I'm all ears.

I think this issue might be partially caused by players, specifically town and nation leaders having too much control over everything that happens with their towns and nations. there can be no conflicting opinions, internal struggles, and a list of priorities to juggle around when you are always the absolute ruler. So it ends up being the number 1 and only priority to just "pick a side", and just for the sake of example, try thinking of feudal Japan. Most shifts in power were caused by individuals seeking more power. Right now when having absolute power is a given, all the efforts are always aimed outwardly. Conflicts are not caused by "conflicting interests" it's just us looking at who to fight and inadvertently ending up on one side or another of existing "meaningless" conflict. I could make a suggestion about the entire "political system overhaul" but I don't see the point in suggesting anything without implying fundamental changes that would possibly be too big to make in the context of N2

and to not leave this unmentioned, I think that giving a small nation the ability to beat a bigger one in some way (for example by literally unbalancing the number of points gained when you cap the banner based on the number of people as in the past) is completely unfair and makes no sense. While everyone loves a good "David vs Goliath" story, the victory needs to be earned, and not just won on the basis of it "always being a fair fight no matter how powerful a nation is" because then, was it really a weaker nation beating a stronger one? making the size of the nation a liability simply makes big nations weaker.
