Also this new rule makes no sense coz blackberries grow wildly and very commonly in savannah and hot climates anyways.

Also for those saying fish and chips you must realise it was nerfed. See, it only restores 4 hungers, but pies restore 6.

Better suggestion is buff them to 6 to match pies, you cannot reverse an entire update for one town

I hope those disliking this educate themselves about slimefun farming, because if they did they would truly realise the many major flaws and drawbacks this update has brought along. The food updates aren't even logical. Why can't blackberries grow in Savannah? I live in Australia and blackberries here are a pest and grow wildly, killing native species. I live in the most arid state too!!! Whoever made these changes ought to reassess their decisions! The changes are illogical and have resulted in the destruction of Farmdorf's food production!!! Please admins rethink these changes. I am very frustrated and changes MUST be made. The slimefun food agriculture was fine in the beginning. There is no reason to have changes besides to upset farmers like me!!!!!! Nobody ever complained about it. You have set back my work so very much!!! All my farms have turned to dead bushes. I urge all reading this to do your research, for if you do it will be evident how confusing and unnecessary the changes were. Honestly, much of the pleasure of nations has been taken away!! I really enjoyed making the slimefun foods. If I had known you would implement these updates I would have repositioned myself. Still, half the changes are not even realistic, like I mentioned with blackberries. I hope someone will reassess this situation. I grow half the crops which were disabled in the hot biomes (eg. savannah and jungle) in my garden in real life. We even had the other day a 41 degree celsius day, yet I still grow the blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. If you really need convincing I will send pictures!!!! I would honestly be more understanding if these were logical changes, but they simply aren't! Also how come that spruce, native to the cold taiga regions of North America can grow in Savannah and Jungle, but blackberries can't. Blackberries grow natively in Asia, the Americas and Europe. Mexico, a country renowned for its hot weather, is the largest producer. Please explain!!! Also other food sources do not cut it. Half are not even as replenishing as pies or fruit products, and they are all so much more difficult to make. You must revert or at least alter the changes to be more realistic and sensible! Thank you very much for your time to all those who have read this. This should summarise my point quite thoroughly, and I urge all who still have questions to please ask me below. This simply makes zero sense!

"Realistic plant growth" is probably a misnomer. The intention is not necessarily to *realistically* model where plants grow in real life, but rather increase specialisation and trade between regions.

I'm more interested in your statement that "half [of the foods] are not even as replenishing as pies or fruit products and they are all so much more difficult to make". Can you please give some examples? I can then revisit their values to see if they need adjusting or if there was a mistake.

My biggest concern was with the growing regions of the fruits, but I will provide to you some other inconsistencies in the hunger restoration of slimefun foods nevertheless.

First of all, I would like to complain about grape salad. Grape salad needs a tomato, lettuce, grape and bowl to be crafted, restoring 5 hunger with a 2.5 saturation. Tomato soup requires a tomato and a bowl and restores 5.5 hunger with a 2.8 saturation. The same is true for strawberry salad, although the regeneration helps balance this.

Next is blueberry muffins, needing blueberries, wheat flour, sugar, butter, heavy cream and an egg to craft. This dish restores 3.5 hunger with 4 saturation. Using just half of these ingredients (sugar, blueberries and wheat), you can make a blueberry pie, restoring 6 hunger, 3 saturation as well as 30 seconds of regeneration 1.

Those are just a couple examples I identified on the spot.

Regarding the efficiency to craft these foods compared to fruit pies, we must immediately rule out all dishes containing meat, as meat is extremely difficult to obtain in bulk amounts. Moreover, all milk based products are also rules out, as obtaining milk in bulk is also incredibly time consuming. This is not very important, but certain slimefun plants, such as strawberry, tomato and sweet potato grow to become player heads in final form, whereas others, such as blackberries and blueberries grow to become leaves. These leaves fruits are much more efficient to harvest than both fruits which grow as player heads and on trees, as they can be instantly mined with an efficiency 5 hoe.

Whether you choose to address these issues could not concern me less; however, I am still frustrated by the decision on growing regions. I honestly think that the desire to "increase trade and specialisation between regions" is unnecessary. My town, Farmdorf, had already cemented itself as a major food production area, specialising in the trade of fruit pies. Meanwhile, other towns are renowned for producing masses of potatoes. I think the desire to increase trade is illogical. Most towns do not trade crops between each other, even following the update. Agricultural limitations were already implemented on all vanilla crops prior to the update, and I can reassure you as an international trader, that none of these crops were ever traded, let alone in a large enough scale to make applying these limitations to slimefun plants a wise decision. I still genuinely wish that these changes be reverted, or to the very least modified, as the whole point of Farmdorf (and I imagine many other farming towns) has been largely lost and what used to bring players like me pleasure, has been taken away.

To be fair on gestern, most people do rely on one town to provide food, I know the coalition ran on Japan and cultists food supply.

I myself bought large amounts of food from farmdorf and to see that just drop sucks.

Players have been obsessed with raspberry pies because of their regeneration effect, this harms people that sell food.


People already get food from towny resources, at this point farming and selling food is no longer livable

I suppose towny resources have reduced much of the need for farming and trade..... but I find that it is not the need for food alone which fuels my desire to produce and supply pies, but also the joy I receive through the process of making them. Thanks for the feedback. Some of the issues you mentioned will be addressed in the next phase of the food update, which will introduce proper custom crops and reduce oversupply. The blueberry muffin inconsistency is currently fixed in the development version. Furthermore, more foods will be given effects and the regeneration effect of berry-based foods may be toned down for balancing purposes.

Is there any hope for Farmdorf's pie industry, or is it over?
