so with many people suggesting changes or town resources this is mine
1.The reroll mechanic
The first idea is a reroll mechanic. Most people complain about towny resources because they’re effectively useless for what they want to do. If a reroll mechanic is implemented, then towns can have a greater chance of getting resources that they want. To limit abuse, there would be an increasing price for these rerolls (maybe doubling the price each time?) starting at $5,000 or $10,000. After too many rerolls, it’s completely unsustainable to keep doing so (no one would pay $1,000,000 for a resource reroll, no matter how good).
2. Biome Dependency
Next, I believe that resources should be more biome-dependent, to limit certain bad or good resources items to specific locations. This would allow for a greater discrepancy between town resources, making war over towny resources a bigger possibility. By further adding items, we’ll increase the possibility that most resources a town gets are at least useful, limiting the outliers, and reducing the need for insane levels of rerolling (or town creation abuse). Here’s a few biome-specific changes, as well as a few possible new resources:
Current list [things in brackets are what i have changed ]
Resource Type Biome Availability
Coal All, but more likely in:
All Taiga biomes
Badlands
Savannah
[only these 3 biome]
Raw Iron All, but more likely in:
All Taiga biomes
[taiga sav badland ]
Bucket of Oil
Only in:
Desert
Snowy Plains
Ice Spikes
Taiga
Cold Ocean
Deep Cold Ocean
Frozen Ocean
Deep Frozen Ocean
[desert oceans costa ]
Diamond
All, but more likely in:
All Taiga biomes
Savanna
Raw Copper All [ taiga mountains savannah badlands ]
Redstone All [ but mostly coastal ]
Slimefun Dusts All [ only copper iron aluminum and sulfate ]
Gravel All
Calcite All
Dripstone All [lush areas ]
Nether Quartz All
Clay All, but more likely in:

Slimeball Only in:
Swamp
Feather All
Leather All [ mostly plains savannah ]
Bone All [ dry areas]
Dyes All [lush area]
Pork All
Mutton All, except cold biomes.
Beef All, except cold biomes.
Chicken All, except cold biomes.
Ender Pearl All
Prismarine All [ only coastal and ocean areas]
Honeycomb All [ plains and dry areas]
Wheat All, except:
All Desert biomes
[no cold biomes or wet biomes
Melon Slice Only in:
All Jungle biomes
Cactus Only in:
All Desert biomes
Uranium All
Lapis Lazuli All, but more likely in:
Desert Hills
Ice Only in cold biomes.
We would also add more items to this list
Biomes
Carbon [ all mostly deep ocean or mountainous area ]
Compressed carbon [ [ all mostly deep ocean or mountainous area ]
Raw carbonado [ all mostly deep ocean or mountainous area ]
Nickel ingots (for the ingots the should be different amounts than dusts)
Sulfate [ desert mostly ]
Brass ingots [ dryer areas ]
bronze ingots [ dryer areas ]
Steel ingots [ dryer areas ]
Power crystals [ all ]
magnets [ dryer areas ]
Silicon [ dryer areas ]
Glowstone [ all ]
By doubling the list, we dilute the pool to the point that making a ton of new towns wouldn’t be worth the 10s of thousands of dollars for rerolls.
3.Population dependencies
Another reason people feel Towny Resources is redundant is because very few towns reach past the 3rd level. This means that the vast majority of people aren’t getting the maximum value out of the plugin. If these higher tiers can be bought, that would increase the pool given to nations (increasing the value of the plugin for warfare), as well as give smaller towns with huge economic impact the ability to properly use the system.
If buying for higher tiers isn’t feasible, maybe we could use androids instead? For instance, having a certain number of androids working for purely towny resources would allow for a town to collect resources, even if they don’t have the population. It might not work plugin-wise, but could be an interesting avenue to explore.
i'm reposting this because it had major support and id like to see how we feel about this 6 months later you can refer to the last one on (june 30th 2022 and 4 months ago ) for already asked questions total i have gotten 24 upvotes on this idea im bringing it back because i still feel its a necessary change
