i think most people are aware that the nether portal has to be in ur homeblock and that's to prevent abusing the nether to tp around ur town. it does work at preventing that, but it kinda causes other problems for town building. nether portals are usually pretty ugly unless there is like a dedicated build for that, but the homeblock is important for other reasons. like i remember in kiev we had this cool nether portal ghast shrine thingy, but we couldn't change the homeblock for other reasons, so it was basically just decoration. im pretty sure most people just put their nether portal hidden underground somewhere in the homeblock, which is kinda boring

my idea is to make a new plot type that's like "nether" or smth, and it basically serves the same purpose of the home chunk, but allows u to make it anywhere in the town. as long as it tps u back to the nether home chunk when u go back through the portal, then it can't be abused. obviously only allow one per town too. i think this is just way better cuz u can make dedicated areas for ur nether portal and make it actually look nice and incorporate it in the town
