I can agree with this, but I don't see the point what's bad with lokans

I think most of it stems from the features that are currently in place... the fact is, winning a war doesn't actually destroy a nations ability to fight a war. If that was the case Imperium Romanum and Thrace would have died ages ago. It also doesn't help that pvpers dominate the scene. Meaning anybody who is not a god at the game has no chance. Even with the increased importance of movecraft, without a large ammount of pvpers you simply cannot win. I'l leave it at that and leave it as an exercise for the community to figure out how to go about fixing this.

Did you even read the last thread about a reset? Also did you check Zaify's reply to it? Even if a reset were to happen, same friendships will exist and same thing will happen and it will only be fun for the starting 1-2 months.

There is no reset planned or being developed at this time.

There are no plans to consider a reset anywhere in the near future.

For now, this will not change.

If you do n3, whats gonna change, people will just occupy different locations, they will have same alliances and same intentions, yesterday we managed to pull off the most annoying tactic with 2 tanks against 8 pro pvpers, pretty sure you can defend yourself against 69 pvpers if you know how to counter them, europe will always be battlefield, and australia is australia, who would want to live there

The most annoying part of 69 pvpers is the ability to cap a banner with all 69 of them. As for new blood they can find their space slowly,not all of the current nations popped out of nowhere. Nordic fought basically all of Europe, America is an exiled nation from Old Carthage, Japan has had its troubles but the weeb playerbase keeps it alive, OE is OE I dont get why they even exist tbh, Teutons exist only via old treaties from beta server as they cant really do anything alone and thats about it really and us in Rome are fighting these stupid alliances since the day we sieged Norston a year ago. Thracia is also made after agreeing to leave Rome to make their own nation.

I'm ambivalent towards a reset.

There are some features on the server that did not play out as originally envisioned, such as:

- the peaceful/non-peaceful town system and its effects on sieges and geopolitics

- custom durability blocks, the level of destruction at sieges and their effects on the looks and number of non-peaceful towns

- the fragile and arguably dysfunctional "balancing act" between diamond pot PvP, Movecraft and gun mechanics

- allowing towns to claim so close together, and its effects on siege balancing and SvS.

The issues here range from being difficult to impossible to resolve without a reset. So I am acutely aware that a reset would be beneficial from a design perspective, and would make my life much, much easier in that regard. I fully believe that having the opportunity to make sweeping changes afforded by a reset would tangibly benefit gameplay and reduce the workload for staff ..in theory, anyway.

I am now going to talk about the issues I have with a reset.

Firstly, it is not clear to me how a map reset would change the political landscape of the server by itself. The nations on the server *may* change, but the underlying alliances and friendships which have led to the current situation would not.

Secondly, I do not (or rather, should not) have the time to pour into arranging a reset. Both resetting the server and monitoring the effects of any changes made during the reset would consume an inordinate amount of my time. Given that I have spent over 2,000 hours on the server over the past year, that is absolutely something that I would like to avoid. CCNet is supposed to be a hobby - in theory, at least. It could more accurately be described as an unpaid, unenjoyable job.

Thirdly, there are still large-scale projects being planned and built on Nations, such as San Fransisco and the expansion of Celle. I am inclined to favour the opinions of the active players who are behind these over those who have quit and - in all likelihood - would not return if there was a reset.

Fourthly, our analytical data shows that the regular player count on Nations is still increasing, and indeed increasing to a level not seen before on N2. This is not a characteristic of a server in its death throes and in need of an immediate reset.

I agree mostly with zaify but something needs to be done about the idiocy of n2 politics, and also we need to #FreeThePlanes and add race cars so n3 would be pretty good

First of all, nothing from diplomatic side would change most likely, people will have same alliances, same conflicts, just different settlements.
