Ships mostly have their cannons on the front end of their ships for flexibility and to only use 1 remote tool/sign as opposed to using 2 if they had a rear turret.
With a "reverse sub craft rotate sign" this sign would rotate the opposite way you would be asking it to rotate. For example, if you were to command your front turret to rotate left, your rear turret would rotate right to converge the aim of your guns on 1 side of the ship. This would in turn allow you to practically use both a front and rear turret with ought the inconvenience of having to use 2 remote tools.
