I believe that people with decency to speed stair bridge and dodge sniper bullets deserve to get away from assaults from hostile players. Just think about how much practice it will take and the amount of pressure and stress that the runner has to bare while speed stair bridging. Also, even though the runner somehow not get any hit until the combat timer ends. The survival isn't even guaranteed since the attacker can always install deadly traps. Allowing this will at least give people with bad gear or bad pvp skill to survive in the dangerous wilderness. Not many people in the server can even pull this off since god stair bridging is very advanced technique or running away. The server favours attackers too much. I believe that the server should also give runner some rooms. The runner shouldn't be able to place blocks in claims or place an ender chest though since it will make running away easy.

All of these considerations are outweighed by the simple fact that if you allow placing blocks in combat, you also need to allow breaking blocks in combat. If you don't allow breaking blocks in combat, then you can simply trap someone and prevent them from escaping. If you do allow it, however, PvP then becomes a game of spleef, one that is one-sided if you are fighting in claims.

I actually think placing and breaking in combat has some benefits. It probably will cause more spleefing, but it’d also allow players to escape wilderness ganks more easily. However, it should definitely not work in claims or it’d be very dumb. It would also nerf the strategy to build a wall around banner and shoot everyone approaching, which personally I find to be an unfun playstyle. I think it could be worth testing for a couple weeks
